비정형 시각예술 융합 교육과 산업디자인 적용 사례 연구 (A study on convergence education of formless visual art and application case of industrial design)

초록

본 연구는 비정형 시각예술 융합교육 모형으로 디자인 적용을 위한 연계 가능성을 알아보고자 시작되었으며, 사용자 조사, 전문가 조사를 통해 사물, 공간 등에서의 비정형 디자인이 사용자에게 어떤 기능과 가치를 가지고 있는지도 도출하고자 하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구의 목적은 앞서 연구한 교육 모형에서 비정형에 대한 개념적 접근과 확장을 통해 교육 모형을 보완하고, 비정형이 실제 산업디자인에 어떻게 적용되고 있는지, 새롭게 적용이 가능한지, 그 기능과 가치는 무엇인지에 대해 연구하여 교육 모형을 체계화하고자 하는 것이다.
따라서 본 논문은 선행연구 조사를 통해 교육 모형에 대한 연구의 필요성을 확인하고, 문헌적 연구, 사례 조사를 통해 디자인의 심미성과 비정형에 대한 개념적 접근, 확장으로 교육 모형을 보완하였으며, 교육 실시를 통해 디자인 적용 가능성을 도출하고, 사용자 조사, 전문가 조사를 통해 비정형 디자인의 요소와 기능, 사용자의 니즈와 얻고자 하는 가치를 도출하였다.
연구 결과 및 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 비정형 디자인은 디자인의 형태, 기능 등에서 비정형 형태가 추구하는 해체적이고 무질서하고 수평적인 것과 더불어, 불규칙한, 불완전한, 불안정한, 비대칭적인, 일정하지 않은, 변화하는, 동적인, 역동적인, 즉흥적인, 다채로운, 다양한, 중첩된, 복잡한, 거친, 깔끔하지 않은, 오래된, 구겨진, 낡은 등의 형용사와 자연스러운, 편안함, 자유스러움, 아름다움, 독특함 등으로 표현되었다. 그러나 비정형에 대한 개념이 보다 정제된 형태와 재료를 통해 정형적인 형태들로 표현된 것에 대해서는 상품의 기능과 가치에 대해 고민하면서 정형적인 형태가 아닌 비정형적인 형태를 표현하고자 하는 것에 대해 어느 정도 한계가 있었다. 둘째, 비정형 디자인은 형태, 색상, 문양 등에서 선택의 폭도 다양해서 하나하나가 한정판 같고, 품질에 있어서도 색상, 재질, 마감 등이 뛰어나면서 기능도 충족시키고 사용이 편리한 것을 기본으로, 고급스러움을 강조한다. 특히, 사용적 가치, 예술적 가치에 대해서 ‘다르다’, ‘특별한 의미를 가진다’와 더불어 ‘과시한다’에서 볼 수 있듯이 사용자들은 남들과 다른, 다름과 함께 약간의 과시욕과 더불어 어떻게 보이는 것에 대한 가치 측정을 중요하게 여긴다고 볼 수 있었다.
이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 형태 표현과 재현에 있어서 새롭고 다양한 접근, 창의적인 시도를 유도하는 디자인 교육 콘텐츠로, 기능에 충실하면서 예술적 가치를 가지는 디자인의 연구 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

영어초록

This study was started to find out the possibility of linkage for design application with convergence education models of formless visual arts, and I wanted to derive the functions and values of formless designs through user research and expert research.
Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to systematize the education model by supplementing the previous education model through conceptual approaches and extensions, how formless form is applied to industrial design and whether it is newly applicable and what are their functions and values.
Therefore this study was confirmed the need for this research on the education model by conducting some preceding research studies, and complemented the education model with conceptual approaches and extensions to design aesthetics and the formless by conducting case study, and derived the applicability of design by conducting the training, and derived the elements and functions of formless design, and user needs, and the value.
The results and contents of this study are as follows. First, formless design seeking to be deconstructive, disordered, horizontal in form, function have been represented by irregular, incomplete, unstable, asymmetrical, irregular, changing, dynamic, improvisatory, various, overlapping, complex, rough, untidy, old, crumpled, and natural, comfortable, free, beautiful, unique, etc. But The concept of the formless was expressed in more formal forms through refined forms and materials, and there were some limitations in trying to express the formless, not formal ones, while agonizing over the function and value of the product. Second, formless designs have a wide range of choices in form, color, and pattern, so each one is like a limited edition, and excellent color, material, and finish in quality, and they are easy to use, and emphasizes luxury. In particular, about the value of use and artistic value, users consider the value measurement of what they look like important, as seen in "different" and "special meaning" and "show off", as well as a little bit of a show-off, different from others.
Based on these findings, it is expected to be used as design educational content that induces new and diverse approaches and creative attempts in form expression and representation and research data for design that is faithful to its function and has artistic value.
