도서관의 비정형 형태 공간에 대한 사례 고찰 (A Comparative Study on Types of Atypical Spaces in Libraries)

초록

21세기 도서관의 역할은 넘쳐나는 디지털콘텐츠와 인터넷을 통한 정보전달 및 생성이 늘어나고 이와 더불어 새로운 시대적 요구와 도서관 이용자들의 행태가 변함에 따라 새로운 모형으로 변하고 있다. 또한 지역 커뮤니티의 활성화가 점차 중요해지면서 지역주민들과 함께 지식 및 교육과 교류의 장으로 남녀노소 함께 공유 가능한 공간으로 역할을 수행하고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 사회적 변화에 대응하는 도서관의 정형과 비정형 형태의 공간에 대한 고찰을 통해서 효율적인 기능과 역할을 수용하는데 기초적 근거 제시하는데 의의가 있다. 연구방법은 도서관의 사회적 요구에 따른 공간구성의 변천과 새로운 공간의 도입에 대한 이론적 개념과 함께 선행연구 및 사례를 통해서 고찰한 후, 비정형 형태의 공간에 대한 함유가 용이한 라운지에 대한 사례분석에 대하여 사선형, 준곡면, 단방향, 이중휨으로 적용된 요인을 분류하였다. 사례를 분석한 결과는 첫째, 이용자와 이용자 관계성립을 통해 생성되는 다양한 콘텐츠를 포괄하는 네트워크상의 환경을 구축하기 위해 폐가식이 아닌 수직적 확장의 공간 조성을 삽입함으로써 공용공간의 복합화와 다양성 및 자유적 환경을 가져왔다.
둘째, 지역의 사회적 문화적 교육적 커뮤니티를 위해 프로그램을 도입하고 이를 위한 개방된 도서관의 기능을 수용하기 위해서 공용공간의 확대 및 소음의 희석을 위한 방법으로 높은 층고와 실내외의 연결성부분에 대부분 사례에서 보듯이 비정형 형태를 활용하여 시각적 분산을 유도한다.
셋째, 도서관의 정형 공간에서 보이는 이용자 행태의 이동 동선은 단방향 방식이었다면 비정형 공간에서 나타나는 동선은 방사형 또는 다방향의 동선 행태를 보이는 것으로 분석 결과 도출하였다.

영어초록

As information delivery and creation through overflowing digital contents and Internet are increasing, and the demands of the new era and the behavior of library users are changing, the role of libraries in the 21st century is changing into a new model. In addition, as the activation of local community becomes increasingly important, it is playing a role as a space where men and women of all ages can share with the local residents as a place for knowledge, education and exchange. Therefore, this study is of significance in suggesting basic basis for accepting effective functions and roles through consideration of the typical and atypical space of the library in response to social change.
The previous studies and cases were reviewed with the theoretical concept of the transition of space composition according to social demand of library and the introduction of new space. Then, for the case analysis of the lounge which is easy to be contained in the atypical space, the factors applied as the linear, quasi - curved, unidirectional, double bending, etc. were classified.
The results of analyzing the cases are as follows: First, in order to construct a network environment that encompasses a variety of contents generated through the establishment of user relationship with users, it has brought about the complexity, diversity and free environment of public spaces by inserting the spatial composition of the vertical extension rather than the closed type.
Second, in order to introduce programs for the social, cultural and educational communities of the region and to accommodate the functions of the open library, as shown in most cases, the atypical shape is used to induce visual dispersion in high story height and connection part of indoors and outdoors as a method for expanding the common space and diluting the noise.
Third, the results of analysis showed that when the moving line of the user behavior in the typical space of the library was unidirectional, the moving line shown in the atypical space shows radial or multi-directional moving line behavior.
