비서직의 업무확장 경험에 관한 사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Work Expansion Experience of Secretaries)

초록

본 연구는 10년 이상의 비서 경력을 가진 8명의 현직 비서직 종사자를 대상으로 그들이 경험해온 업무확장의 종류와 그 계기, 업무확장이 여러 변수에 미치는 영향, 비서의 업무 및 업무범위 확장에 대한 생각, 확대 희망 업무, 비서와 타부서 직원들의 업무확장 기회, 그리고 연구 참여자들이 생각하는 비서의 업무영역과 직무범위의 문제점에 대해 다방면으로 확인하여 비서의 업무확장 가능성을 파악하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 8명 모두 비서 경력 중 업무확장을 경험하였으며 인사 및 총무, 예산 관리 업무의 경영지원 업무와 오랜 경력을 기반으로 한 OJT와 문서작성 교육이 도출되었고 기업 특성에 따라 인증 업무 및 영업 프로젝트 업무 등을 추가적으로 담당하고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 관련 변수간 관계를 파악한 결과로는 8명 모두 업무확장이 자기효능감에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다고 응답했고 7명이 직무만족이 향상되었다고 응답하였다. 하지만 이직의도, 심리적 주인의식, 직업정체성에 미치는 영향은 참가자들 간 다른 의견들이 도출되었다. 연구 참가자들 대부분은 변화된 시대에 비서의 업무확장이 필요하다고 생각하고 있었으며 확대 희망 업무로 IT 기술, 인적자원관리, 대외홍보, 영업 관련 업무 등이 도출되었다. 본 연구는 최초로 비서의 업무확장 경험을 파악하고 관련 변수들에 미치는 영향도 제한적으로 파악하였다는 데에 의의가 있으며 비서, 사무직을 양성하는 대학의 학과나 조직에도 실무적인 시사점을 제공한다. 후속 연구로 더 많은 비서 사례 분석을 통해 비서 업무 확장 가능성을 확인하여 비서 교육 및 비서 양성에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

영어초록

This study was conducted on eight current secretaries with more than 10 years of secretarial experience, including the types of work expansion they have experienced and the reasons for it, the impact of work expansion on various variables, their thoughts on the expansion of secretaries' work and scope of work, and the reasons for expansion. The purpose of this study was to identify the possibility of secretaries' work expansion by confirming various aspects of desired work, opportunities for work expansion of secretaries and employees of other departments, and problems with secretaries' work areas and job scope as thought by research participants. As a result of the study, all eight secretaries experienced work expansion during their secretarial career, and were provided with management support work in personnel, general affairs, and budget management work, as well as OJT and document writing training based on their long experience, and depending on the characteristics of the company, they were assigned to certification work and sales project work. It was confirmed that he was additionally in charge of such matters. As a result of identifying the relationship between related variables, all eight people responded that work expansion had a positive effect on self-efficacy, and seven people responded that job satisfaction improved. However, different opinions were derived among participants regarding the impact on turnover intention, psychological ownership, and occupational identity. Most of the research participants believed that it was necessary to expand the work of secretaries in this changing era, and IT technology, human resource management, external public relations, and sales-related work were identified as the work they wanted to expand. This study is significant in that it is the first to identify secretaries' work expansion experiences and its effects on related variables. It also provides practical implications for university departments and organizations that train secretaries and office workers. As a follow-up study, I hope to confirm the possibility of expanding secretarial work through analysis of more secretarial cases and to contribute to secretarial education and secretarial training in organizations.
