블라봐츠키와 루돌프 스타이너의 색채론의 비교 (Comparision on the H.P.Blavasky and Rudolf Steiner's Color Theory)

초록

이 논문은 블라봐츠키의 신지학의 색채론과 루돌프 슈타이너의 색채론의 차이를 연구하는 데에 있다. 루돌프 슈타이너의 색채론은 블라봐츠키의 신지학의 영향을 받았지만, 블라봐츠키의 신지학과는 다른 색채론의 체계를 지니고 있다. 블라봐츠키의 색채론은 '진동과 의식의 진화'를 통해 물리적 세계를 넘어서 무한히열려 있는 색채를 인식할 수 있는 구조를 지니고 있지만, 루돌프 슈타이너의 색채론은 '운동과 상상력'을 통해 물질 이면에 존재하는 내적인 실체를 체험하여 자아의 본질을 인식하는 체계를 지니고 있다.
색채는 블라봐츠키에게 의식을 내재하고 있으며, 진동을 통해 생성되어 나와인간과 우주를 구성하는 본질적인 요소이지만 루돌프 슈타이너에게 인간과 자연의 이면에서 움직이고 있는 내적 실체들을 반영하는 이미지로서 상상력을 통해색채의 이면에 있는 내적 실체를 인식함으로써 인간의 고차원적인 인식을 획득할수 있는 매개체와 같은 것이다.
검은 색과 흰색은 블라봐츠키의 색채론에서 우주에서 실재하지 색채이지만 물리적인 세계에서 만들어낸 색채이지만, 루돌프 슈타이너의 색채론에서 검은 색과흰색은 인간의 본질적인 자아인 영혼의 실체를 상징하는 이미지이다. 일곱 개의색채는 블라봐츠키에게 공간이 지니고 있는 3중성의 성질을 통해 생성되어 나온7중의 존재구조와 동일한 대응 관계를 지니고 있으며, 인간은 자신의 7개의 신체의식 구조를 이루고 있는 색채의 성질과 기능을 통해 태양계의 7개의 행성로고스들을 비롯하여 태양과 우주의 생성원리와 작용을 이해할 수 있는 것이다.
반면에 루돌프 스타이너의 색채론의 체계는 일곱 개의 색채 이외에도 검은색과흰색, 살색을 추가하여 10가지의 색채의 체계를 지니고 있다. 검은색과 살색은죽음과 인간의 혼의 이미지를 상징하며, 흰색과 녹색은 인간의 영과 자연의 생명을 상징하고 있다. 검은색과 살색은 그에게 하나의 짝을 이루고, 흰색과 녹색은짝을 이루어 위와 아래의 대립된 색채의 체계를 형성하고 있다. 그리고 이들 좌우로 정신이 외부로 향하는 색채들과 정신이 내부로 향하는 색채들의 대립 구도를 이루며, 색채들은 인간의 영혼의 운동을 드러내는 이미지로 작용한다.
색채는 블라봐츠키에게 사유와 함께 진동을 통해 생성되어 나와 의식을 내재하고 실체로서 인간의 의식 진화를 통해 무한히 인식할 수 있는 것이지만, 루돌프슈타이너에게 상상력을 통해 색채 이면에 있는 실체들로 인식을 확장함으로써 그실체를 파악할 수 있는 요소를 지니고 있다. 다시 말해 색채는 블라봐츠키에게블라봐츠키와 루돌프 스타이너의 색채론의 비교 131의식의 진화를 통해 인식할 수 있는 요소이지만, 루돌프 슈타이너에게 상상력을통해 그 이면에 있는 실체를 인식할 수 있는 매개체인 것이다.

영어초록

This paper aims to study the difference between chromatics asserted in H. P. Blavasky’s theosophy and chromatics by Rudolf Steiner.
Steiner’s chromatics was influenced by Blavasky’s theosophy, but has its independent system of chromatics. While Blavasky’s chromatics stresses that infinitely open colors are perceived through the "evolution of vibration and consciousness" beyond the physical world, Steiner’s chromatics asserts that the true nature of the self can be perceived through experience of inner substance existing on the hidden side of material through "movement and imagination".
For Blavasky, color has its own consciousness and is an elemental factor consisting of myself and the universe, shaped through vibrations. For Steiner, color is like the image reflecting inner substances moving on the hidden side of man and nature, and a medium to attain a high level of perception, realizing inner substances hidden in color.
While black and white in Blavasky’s chromatics are colors that are nonexistent in the universe and made in the physical world, these colors in Steiner’s chromatics are symbolic of humanity’s elemental self, the true nature of the soul. For Blavasky, the seven colors are in corresponding relation with the seven-fold structure of existence deriving from trinity. We humans are able to understand the seven planetary logos in the solar system and the generative principle and operation of the sun and the universe through the property and function of the colors, thus forming our seven structures of the body and consciousness.
On the contrary, Steiner’s chromatics comprises 10 colors adding black, white, and skin color to the seven colors. Black and skin colorare symbolic of death and the soul, and white and green of the soul of man and the life of nature. Like black and skin color, white and green form the system of contrasting colors in pairs. Colors toward the inside of the spirit and colors toward the outside of the spirit are in a dichotomous composition from side to side, working to unveil the movement of human souls.
For Blavasky, color is the substance inherent in myself and consciousness and engendered through vibrations along with thought, and can be perceived through the evolution of human consciousness while for Steiner, the true nature of color can be grasped by expanding our perception to the substances behind color through imagination. That is, for Blavasky, color is an element perceived through the evolution of consciousness whereas for Steiner, it is a medium to enable us to perceive the substance hidden behind color through imagination.
For Steiner, the experience of colors is an act of perception imparted with spiritual nature on the hidden side of things whereas for Blavasky, our perception of colors is limited unless our consciousness is evolved.
