프랜차이즈 시스템에서 환경 불확실성이 가맹본부의 영향전략과 관계성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Environmental Uncertainty on the Influence Strategy and Relationship Performance in the Franchise System)

라이프 스타일의 변화, 인터넷 기술의 발달 및 코로나19라는 팬더믹은 산업 전반에서 불확실성을 높이고 있다. 이렇듯 자영업자 비중이 많은 우리나라에서는 심각한 문제가 아닐 수 없다. 특히 불확실성이 클수록 자영업에서 많은 비중을 차지하는 프랜차이즈 산업의 가맹본부와 가맹점이 큰 타격을 받을 것이다. 그렇다면 불확실성이 높아질수록 관계 구축에 어떤 영향전략을 사용해야 효율성을 높일지는 살펴봐야 한다. 지금까지 프랜차이즈 시스템 연구들은 시스템 성공의 상관관계, 장기적 관계에 비중을 두고 진행되었다. 본 연구는 환경적 불확실성이 프랜차이즈 시스템에서의 가맹본부와 가맹점 사이의 영향전략(비강압적 영향전략, 강압적 영향전략)에 미치는 영향과 두 가지 종류의 영향전략이 신뢰와 관계성과인 관계지속의도와 다점포운영의도에 미치는 영향을 다루고 있다. 프랜차이즈 가맹점을 운영하고 있는 가맹점주 206명을 대상으로 설문한 결과 환경적 불확실성은 강압적 영향전략에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 가맹본부의 비강압적 영향전략은 가맹본부 신뢰에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고 강압적 영향전략은 가맹본부 신뢰에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가맹본부의 신뢰는 관계지속의도와 다점포운영의도에정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 연구의 결과 및 시사점 그리고 한계점과 향후 연구방향에 대해 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 실무적⋅학문적인 시사점 이외에도 다점포 운영이 중요해지고 있는 프랜차이즈 산업에 시사점을 제공하고 있다.

영어초록

Lifestyle changes, the development of Internet technology, and the pandemic of COVID-19 are increasing uncertainty across the industry. In Korea, where the proportion of self-employed people is high, it will be a serious problem. In particular, the greater the uncertainty, the more the franchise headquarters and franchises in the franchise industry, which account for a large portion of self-employed businesses, will be hit hard. If so, it is necessary to look at what Influence strategy should be used to build relationships as uncertainty increases. Until now, franchise system studies have been conducted focusing on the correlation and long-term relationship of system success. This study deals with the effect of environmental uncertainty on the influence strategy(noncoercive influence strategy and coercive influence strategy) between franchise headquarters and franchisees in the franchise system, the relationship continuity and multi-shop operation intention. As a result of a survey of 206 franchise owners operating franchisees, environmental uncertainty was found to have a positive (+) effect on the coercive influence strategy, and the noncoercive influence strategy of the franchise headquarters had a positive (+) effect on the trust of the franchise headquarters. The coercive influence strategy of the franchise headquarters had a non-positive (-) effect on the trust of the franchise headquarters. In addition, it was found that the trust of the franchise headquarters had a positive (+) effect on the intention to sustain the relationship and the intention to operate multiple stores. Finally, the results and implications of the study, limitations, and future research directions were presented. The results of this study provide implications for the franchise industry, where multi-shop operation intention is becoming important in addition to practical and academic implications.
