초록

Baegam SeongChong(栢庵性聰, 1631∼1700) was an individual who had settled the specific features of the communion of Buhoo(浮休門派) in the late Joseon-dynasty. Through compilation classical books(典籍), he had an profound influence on the Buddhist history in the late Joseon(朝鮮). Among them Jungtouboseo(淨土寶書), Sakyungziheomki(四經持驗紀), the edit of Mahayanashraddhotpada-shastra's commentary (大乘起信論疏筆削記會編) are worthy of notice.
Jungtouboseo(淨土寶書) is the book which had selected and compiled the contents about the Buddhist Elysium from Jungtouzaryungzeonzip(淨土資糧全集) by Zang, Goangwhan(莊廣還), Jungtouzenseo (淨土全書) by Yoo, Whaeng-min(兪行敏), Jungtouzinzong(淨土晨鐘) by Zu, Keukbok(周克復) etc. These writers were the individuals from the late Ming-dynasty to the early Ching-dynasty and mostly have influenced of thought of Unseozugoiung(雲棲袾宏, 1535∼1615).
Sakyungziheomki(四經持驗紀) is composed of the stories of miracle from the four Sutras, in other words Buddhavatamsaka-sutra (華嚴經), Diamond-sutra(金剛經), Lotus Sutra(法華經), Avalokiteshvara-sutra(觀音經). These 4 Sutras are compilations of Zu, Keukbok(周克復) in Ching-dynasty. The fact that SeongChong(性聰) had compiled the stories of miracle is related to the popularization of the Buddhism in the later Joseon-dynasty and also is considered that the Buddhism pacified the masses who had been suffered from the natural disasters, the famines, the infectious diseases etc. in 17th century.
The edit of Mahayanashraddhotpada-shastra's commentary(大乘起信論疏筆削記會編) reflects the comprehension about Mahayanashraddhotpada- shastra of the chinese thinkers of Avatamsaka(華嚴) namely, Beobchang(法藏), zongmil(宗密), Zeono(傳奧), and Zaseon(子璿). And in this book we could find the confrontation and harmony of thoughts in Avatamsaka(華嚴), Zen(禪), Cheontai(天台). And the text of Wonhyo(元曉) had not read in the later Joseon-dynasty.
The classical books which the communion of Buhoo(浮休門派) had compiled are related to the expanding and changing the social bases of the Buddhism from traditional upper classes to ordinary people, from men to women through harmonizing Zen(禪), Avatamsaka(華嚴), recitation of the Buddha's name(念佛). And those trends went forward by acceptance of the classical books of the stories of miracle and the books with explanatory notes from the late Ming-dynasty to the early Ching-dynasty. In other words, the trends of thought of Buddhism in the later Joseon-dynasty also secretly communicated with the trends of Buddhism in East Asia in those days.
