초록

이 논문은 돈황 410굴 수대 미륵삼존불의상과 경주 삼화령 고신라 미륵삼존불의상을 비교 분석한 글이다.
첫째 돈황 410굴 수대 미륵불의상은 돈황 일대 미륵사상의 발달로 조성될 수 있었다는 점이다.
둘째 돈황 석굴 미륵불의상은 시대에 따라 변천한다. 즉 북조시대 미륵불의상은 수척한 형태의 날씬한 특징이 나타나는데 비하여 북주에서 수대에는 보다 건장하고, 통통한 특징이나 4등신적이고 머리는 크며 신체는 작아지는 특징이 나타나는데, 410굴 미륵불의상은 수대의 특징인 건장하고 다소 풍만한 특징이 나타나고 있다.
셋째 신라 삼화령 미륵불의상은 중국 서북지방인 북주 미륵불의상과 친연성이 강하며 410굴 미륵불의상과 친근성이 상당히 있다고 판단되지만 약간 다른 점도 있다.
고신라 미륵불의상과 돈황석굴 미륵불의상과의 비교를 통해 양국간의 불교 내지 불교미술 교류관계를 밝히는데 상당히 기여한다고 말할 수 있다.

영어초록

This is a comparative study that analyzed the Maitreya Triad statue seated on a chair from the Sui Dynasty in Cave #410 of the Magao Caves and the Maitreya Triad statue seated on a chair from the ancient Shilla Dynasty at Samhwa‐ryeong, Gyeongju.
First, the Maitreya Buddha statue seated on a chair from the Sui Dynasty in Cave #410 of the Magao Caves was created as a result of the development of Maitreya ideology in the area around the Magao Caves.
Second, Maitreya Buddha statues seated on a chair found in the Magao Caves changed over time. That is, Maitreya Buddha statues seated on a chair created during the Northern Dynasty have a haggard face and a slim body, but those in the period from the Northern Chou Dynasty to the Sui Dynasty are stout and chubby but are proportioned to four equal‐sized parts at the size of the head, so having a large head and a small body. The Maitreya Buddha statue seated on a chair in Cave #410 is stout and somewhat chubby, showing the characteristics of statues from the Sui Dynasty.
Third, the Maitreya Buddha statue seated on a chair from the Shilla Dynasty at Samhwa‐ryeong, Gyeongju shows high affinity to Maitreya Buddha statues seated on a chair from the Northern Chou Dynasty, which is the northwestern province of China, and is also considered quite close to the Maitreya Buddha statue seated on a chair in Cave #410 but shows slight differences from that.
By comparing the Maitreya Buddha statue seated on a chair from the ancient Shilla Dynasty with Maitreya Buddha statues seated on a chair in the Magao Caves, this study is believed to have made a significant contribution to explaining the exchange of Buddhism and Buddhist art between the two countries.
