현대소설에 나타난 ‘종군위안부’의 디아스포라와 타자성 (The Diaspora and Otherness of “Enforced Sex Slaves Following the Army” in Modern Novels)

초록

국내ㆍ재외 여성작가의 작품에 형상화 된 종군위안부의 몸의 고통을 추출하여이러한 고통을 주체화하는 방식과 거기에 드러난 타자성을 규명할 것이다. 종군위안부들은 일시적인 이주의 경험을 통해 틈새적 존재로서 타자의 공간 ‘위안소’에서고통을 통해 대상이 아닌 주체로의 변화를 시도하는 과정에는 저항과 탈주의 정신을 드러낸다.
『종군위안부』에는 종군위안부를 죽은 자의 목소리마저 산 자의 목소리로 생생하게 전달하려는 영매로 설정하여 몸을 비워 소외된 다수의 영혼을 채움으로써 복수적인 공간을 생성해내어 내안의 다양한 ‘타자’와 연대하는 새로운 여성주체의 모습을 보여준다. 이것은 종군위안부의 ‘고통’을 분유(分有)하여 상호공존의 문제로풀어내어 다원화된 타자의 시선으로 확장하여 실천하는 주체로 나아간다.
『날아라 금빛 날개를 타고』에는 종군위안부의 고통받는 몸이 치욕스러운 치부가 아닌 역사적인 ‘고난’에 저항한 ‘고행’의 징표로서, 고통스런 몸적 주체자인 그녀의 성은 ‘허여’의 성으로서 타자를 향해 끝없이 베푸는 상호 공존의 태도를 지향하고 있음을 보여준다. 그러나, 이는 종군위안부의 몸적 고통에 대한 역사적 피해자성을 지우고 있다는 점이다. 하지만, 이 작품에는 저항적이고 탈주적인 헤테로토피아의 장으로서의 새로운 의미를 획득하는 위안소를 그려냄으로써 민족주의를 횡단하며 주체적인 연대적인 관계로 확장되어가는 재영토화를 보여준다.
『한 명』은 침묵하는 풍길의 증언을 통해 역사의 피해자로서의 고통받는 몸이 아닌 연대적 몸적 주체로서 일본 제국주의의 반생명주의에 저항하는 젠더적 연대행위로 돌봄을 실천하는 자아로 거듭남으로써 생태적 긍정성을 회복하는 생태학적인 성을 지향하고 있음을 보여준다.

영어초록

This study will focus on the discriminating ways at the cracking points in the painful bodies of enforced sex slaves following the army including the boundary viewpoint of enforced sex slaves following the army that experienced diaspora and the embodiment methods of otherness in the process the “enforced sex slaves following the army” of diaspora explored with others in works by Korean American or Korean writers.
In Enforced Sex Slaves Following the Army by a Korean American writer, Sun-hyo has a body of symbiosis to hold different souls. The book reveals cracks in the human shape defined by the dichotomy of one body, one soul, thus having overturning nature. By showing a cyclical viewpoint of the world to regard women as land creating everything or nature, the book calls many women excluded and deleted within the male order, mourns them, and shows the reconstruction of the history of the silenced “women.” In Fly on the Gold Wings by a Korean author, an enforced sex slave following the army reveals her diary like their own “skin” to the world and shows that her gender as the subject of her painful body is oriented toward an attitude of mutual existence to give others endlessly as the gender of “grant.” Based on the restored memories of Madangsun, the painful body of the enforced sex slave following the army is the proof of “penance” to resist the historical “hardship” rather than shameful embarrassment.
The “brothels for the troops” where these women were killed are substituted as places of life and healing. In A Person, Pung-gil that used to remain silent starts to give testimony. His testimony demonstrates that the enforced sex slaves following the army were oriented toward life to overturn anti-life Japanese imperialism where the dichotomous modern order between victims and assailants was dominant, transcending their position as victims.
Enforced sex slaves following the army are marginalized in “cracks-gaps” and the subjects of painful bodies. Described in the works by the Korean author, enforced sex slaves following the army reveal otherness oriented toward life as ecological gender. The works by the Korean American author, on the other hand, depict them as mixed subjects and advance to the reconstruction of the history of the silenced women.
