초록

This paper deals with how the ten kinds of music and dance(十部伎) of Tang(唐) dynasty weredescribed in the poetry of the period.
The court banquet music/dance of Tang period represents the golden age of Chinese music/dance culture,and the ten kinds of music/dance can be evaluated as its essence.
Although the main flow of the court banquet music/dance of Tang period can be roughly chased in fewhistory books, it is still difficult to acquire specific information on each music/dance item due to the lackof historical records. In this respect, pictures, poems and songs that describe music and dance are usefulmeans to complement the lack of historical data.
Especially, among the poetry of Tang period which is evaluated as the acme of Chinese poetic literature,there remains around eight poems that describe the ten kinds of music/dance of the time, and arepresentative one is <Pozhen-Yue-ci(破陣樂詞)> composed by nine poets including Zhang Yue(張說).
The items among the ten kinds of music/dance described in those poems are <Xiliang-Ji(西凉伎)>,<Gaoli-Ji(高麗伎)>, <Funan-Ji(扶南伎)> that belong to the category of foreign music/dance,<Qingshan-Yue(慶善樂)> and <Pozhen-Yue(破陣樂)> that belong to newly composed <Yan-Yue(燕樂)>sort. There are left three poems about <Qingshan-Yue>, <Gaoli-Ji>, <Funan-Ji> per each, two about<Xiliang-Ji>, and three about <Pozhen-Yue>.
Thus, the poetry of Tang dynasty that describes the ten kinds of music/dance contributes to the deeperunderstanding of the court music/dance items of the time by providing their spirit, content, emotion, style,direction, social influence as well as the everyday life of court dancers, singers and musicians that are notrecorded in history books.
