초록

본 논문은 영화 <봄날은 간다>에 나타난 두 주인공의 관계에 주목하여 작품서사를 통해 남녀서사영역에서 핵심적으로 다루고 있는 선택 문제를 이해하려는 것에서 출발하였다. 이에 우선 작품서사에 등장하는 각각의 캐릭터가 지닌 서사를 분석하고, 남녀관계에 대처하는 방식에 따라 등장인물의 관계양상을 추적하였다. 이를 통해 남녀관계에 있어서 선택의 문제를 고려할 때 자신의 소망을 대상에게 분명히 보일 수 있을 때 대상에 대한 집착에서 벗어나 이별을 긍정적으로 대처하는 자세를 보일 수 있으며, 이는 단순히 남녀관계를 떠나 인간관계를 긍정적으로 형성할 수 있는 중요한 단서가 된다는 사실을 밝히고자 했다.
남녀서사영역에서 선택을 중요시해야 하는 것은 바로 선택이 선택으로 끝나는 것이 아니라 지속으로 이어질 수 있는 가능성을 내포하고 있기 때문이다. 어떠한 관계든지 올바른 선택이 이루어지지 않으면 관계의 지속은 영원할 수가 없다. 더불어 영원하지 못한 지속에 대해 지나친 원망과 불신을 품게 되면 전반적인 인간관계에서 건강한 방식의 관계 맺기에 제약을 받을 수 있다. 따라서 남녀서사영역에서 선택의 문제를 고려할 때 나에게도 좋고 대상에게도 좋은 것이 무엇인지 알아야 할 필요가 있으며, 서로의 소망 충족을 이해하려는 지점에 도달하려고 노력해야 한다. 그럴 때 비로소 나중에 그 선택에 대해 서로가 책임을 질 수 있는 성숙된 자세를 지닐 수 있을 것이다.
은수의 경우 자기가 생각하는 소망에 대한 확신으로 선택을 하지만 그 소망에 대한 의심을 품고 ‘이성밀치기’를 보인다. 상우의 경우 자신이 소망하는 것에 대해 감추고 선택을 하지만 대상에 대한 행동 변화에 반응을 보이며 자신도 역시 대상에 대한 의심을 품고 ‘이성밀치기’를 보인다. 은수는 자신이 무엇을 원하는지에 대해 분명했기 때문에 자신의 원하는 것에 대해 적극적으로 표현하고 선택을 한 경우였다. 그에 반해 상우는 자신이 무엇을 원하는지에 대해 분명하지 못했기 때문에 대상에 압도당하여 행동이 수동적일 수밖에 없었고, 결국 선택의 문제에 있어서도 올바른 선택을 하지 못했다고 볼 수 있다.
남녀서사영역에서 가장 중요하게 다뤄지고 있는 선택의 문제를 올바르게 이해하기 위해서는 대상보다는 내가 선택의 중심에 놓여 있어야만 한다. 이때 도덕적인 윤리와 규범에 얽매이게 되면 올바른 선택을 하는 데 반드시 장애가 생기게 된다. 따라서 적어도 남녀서사영역에서는 도덕적 규범이나 윤리에 대한 재정립이 필요하다.

영어초록

This study began out of an understanding of selection which is essentially dealt with in the epic area between the sexes through a epic in the work by specifically focusing on the relationship between a man and woman in the movie, 「One Fine Spring day」. Therefore, the study analyzed the epic of each character appearing in the epic in the work, and then detected the changing phase of the relationship between them according to the pattern of coping with a relationship between the sexes. In this way, the study aimed to reveal that when one party clearly expresses his or her intention or desire to the other party in the face of an issue of selection in the relationship between the sexes, the other party may take an attitude of positively coping with the breakup by not wanting to adhere to the other. Also, the study focused on discovering the fact that it will be a key clue in creating an affirmative human relationship not necessarily limited to a relationship between the sexes.
A selection in the epic area between the sexes should be highly regarded because the selection involves the possibility that a selection does not end up to be the selection, but it can last and bring about a chain reaction. No relationship can last eternally unless there is no selection made in the relationship. On top of that, if there should be an excessive grudge or distrust in the continuance of the relationship, which is not everlasting, weaving a relationship in overall human relationships in a sound way may be restricted. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish what is good for me and for the other when considering the issue of selection in the epic area between the sexes and to try to reach a point of understanding the meeting of mutual desires. And then, each party will assume a mature attitude toward each other about their selections later on.
As for Eun Su, she makes a decision with a conviction about her wish in her thoughts, but she pushes away the other sex by brooding over a doubt about her wish. Sang Wu also makes a decision by hiding what he desires, but he responds to the change in behavior toward the other, and he equally pushes away the other sex by having a doubt about the other. Eun Su made her selection by actively expressing what she had wanted because she clearly knew about her desire. Meanwhile, Sang Wu couldn’t help but become passive for he was not clear about what he had wanted, and he became overwhelmed by the other, which eventually led him to make an incorrect decision.
In order to understand the issue of selection correctly, which is taken most importantly in the narrative area between the sexes, I, rather than the other, should be in the center of the selection. Then, if we are bound by moral ethics and standards, we unavoidably face an obstacle. Therefore, it is necessary to newly establish moral standards or ethics, at least in the epic area between the sexes.
