푸젠토루(福建土楼) 지역에 나타난 친환경적 공간 요소 연구 (A Study on the Elements of Ecological Space based on the Fujian Tulou Region)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 최근 지구온난화로 인한 기온상승 문제는 전 세계적 도시 환경 문제로 주목되고 있다. 본 연구는 기후변화에 따른 도시 주거 환경 개선을 위한 지속 가능한 해결점을 찾기 위해서 조명, 환기, 냉ㆍ난방 등의 기술적 고려 외에도 지역 환경과 입지, 생활 구조가 고려된 건축물 자체의 친환경적인 에너지 순환 요소가 필요하다는 점을 인식하고 지역적 특성에 맞춘 건축물의 에너지 효율 개선을 위한 목적으로 시작되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 주변 환경과 조화하며 지역 환경과 특성을 활용하는 친환경적 건축 요소를 분석하고자 중국 남부 복건성(福建省) 지역의 전통 건축 양식인 푸젠토루(福建土楼)에서 나타나는 친환경적 공간 요소를 연구하고 이를 통해 현대 건축에 적용할 수 있는 요소를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. (연구방법) 본 연구에서는 최근 유네스코에 의해 ‘환경과 조화로운 관계에서의 전통 건축물’로 선정된 중국 푸젠토루를 대상으로, 그중 여섯 곳의 푸젠토루 주거공간에서 나타나는 공간, 구조, 환경적 특징을 분석하고 이러한 요소들이 어떤 원리로 적용되어 있는지 연구하였다. 연구는 사전 문헌조사를 통해 자료를 조사하고 이후 현장답사를 통한 직접 비교 및 전문가와 거주민의 설명을 통해 확인하는 방식으로 진행되었으며, 이후 추가적인 문헌 조사를 통해 연구 내용을 심층적으로 분석하고 정리 하였다. (결과) 복건성은 중국 남쪽에 위치하며 기후적으로 아열대 해양성 기후에 속한다. 따라서 여름철 태양 고도가 높고, 강우량이 많아 습도가 높은 특성을 가진다. 복건성에 위치한 토루는 전통적으로 배산임수의 입지를 따르며 바람과 물, 수목 등의 입지 조건을 활용해 덥고 습한 기후를 극복하고 있다. 주민들이 생활하는 토루 내부의 공공공간은 공기조화장치를 사용하지 않고도 외부의 열기에 비해 쾌적한 대기를 형성하며 커뮤니티 공간으로 기능하고 있었는데 이는 환경적 요소, 구조적 요소, 재료적 요소가 복합적으로 작용하여 내부의 대류를 형성한 결과이다. 따라서 쾌적한 대기를 위해서는 대기의 순환, 즉 환기가 활발하게 이루어져야 하며, 이를 자연적으로 형성하기 위해서는 지역, 환경적 특성이 고려되어야 한다. (결론) 연구를 통해 얻어진 푸젠토루의 친환경적 건축 특징이 현대 건축에서는 어떻게 적용되고 있는지 분석하고 이와 같은 지역적 특성을 고려한 친환경적 건축이 기온상승의 대기 문제에 대한 대안으로 현대에 적용될 수 있는 가능성과 건축 방향의 개선점을 제시한다. 주변 환경과 조화하는 것은 변화하는 환경에 유연하게 대응할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 공간의 에너지 효율을 높임으로써 기온상승의 환경문제에 대한 대안이 될 수 있다. 건축의 양적 성장이 충분히 이루어진 지금, 환경의 변화와 에너지 효율에 대한 적극적인 대책으로 새로운 건축 방향이 모색되어 지속가능한 질적 성장이 고려될 필요가 있다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) The issue of rising temperatures caused by global warming has recently been highlighted as a global urban environmental problem. To find a sustainable solution for the improvement of the urban residential environment due to climate change, this study needs to consider not only technical considerations for lighting, ventilation, and heating but also environment-friendly energy circulation of the building itself, considering the local environment. The purpose of this study is to investigate energy efficiency of buildings by researching environmentally friendly architectural elements of Fujian Tulou, a traditional earthen architecture form in southern Fujian province of China, and the elements of ecological space that can be applied to modern ecological architecture that are in harmony with the natural surroundings and regional characteristics. (Method) This study was conducted through a research of preliminary documents, followed by a direct comparison through on-site field research and an explanation of experts and residents. Then, further research was carried out to analyze and summarize the literature reviews in detail. After the analysis of the spatial, structural, and environmental characteristics of the six regions of Fujian Tulou, which was selected as a traditional ecological architecture in harmony with environment by UNESCO, the findings were illustrated the possibility that these ecological architecture principles can be applied to modern architecture as an alternative to the rising global temperature issue and improvement in the direction of sustainable construction. (Result) Fujian Province is located in the south of China and belongs to a subtropical and marine climate, and it has high solar altitude in summer, high rainfall and high humidity. Fujian Tulou followed feng shui and overcome hot and humid climates by utilizing the location conditions of wind, water and trees. The public space inside the Tulou inhabited by the residents functioned as a community space, forming a pleasant atmosphere without using the air conditioner. This is because the environmental factor, the structural factor, and the material factor work together, Which is the result of natural internal convection. The local and environmental characteristics should be considered to create the natural circulation of air flow, that is, the ventilation should be actively performed. (Conclusion) The findings of the ecological architectural features of Fujian Tulou can be applied in modern architecture, and have suggested the possibility of ecological architecture considering the regional characteristics as an alternative to the atmospheric problem of rising temperature. Harmonization with the surrounding environment can be an alternative to the environmental problems, not only by flexibly responding to rapid changing environments, but also by increasing the energy efficiency of the space. Now as the quantitative growth of the construction has been achieved, new architectural directions should be sought as active measures of environmental protection and climate change, and sustainable qualitative growth.
