Knit goes beyond its inherent functionality and has a wide range of applications across all items of fashion. In addition, according to the needs of diversified modern people, various textures can be efficiently expressed by the change of organization and yarn, and have unique and various characteristics of the material itself.
Hanbok is one of Korea's representative cultural heritages, and it can be said that it has been worn by Koreans for a long time, and interest in hanbok has been increasing, especially among young people in recent years. Not only did young women purchase Hanbok directly, but also non-profit organizations and communities centered on Hanbok appeared to make various movements to promote wearing Hanbok.. Hanbok is now being consumed not only as a dress worn only at holidays, weddings, and feasts, but also as a fashion item for a different experience and fashionable fashion items.
Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop children's clothing with a design suitable for children aged 5 to 13 years, using various material characteristics of knit and Korean image. Through this, hope to suggest a new direction in the study of Korean clothing and children's clothing design to feel familiarity with Korean traditional culture from childhood. As the Korean Wave spreads not only to popular culture, but also to Korean products and culture as a whole, it is required to expand the development of cultural contents using Korean images. There is research intention in presenting the direction of popularization.
For this purpose, first of all, the characteristics of knitted materials and children's clothing will be examined by leading studies. Therefore, in this study, we will select suitable elements for children's clothing and design and manufacture children's clothing that expresses Korean image well.
