초록

Garye(嘉禮) ceremonies under Sejong Sillok-Orye include wedding systems for the king, crown prince, princes, and princesses. Whereas the wedding costumes for men in the royal family were recorded in clear names, those for women have no clear meaning such as ‘Susik(首飾) and Jeogui(翟衣)’ for the queen, ‘Susik and Myeongbok(命服)’ for the crown princess, and ‘Seongbok(盛服)’ for princesses and the wives of princes. This study set out to examine the origins and realities of the names of royal women’s wedding costumes in Sejong Sillok-Orye. In addition, various Uiju(儀注: records of ritual procedures) were written on the corresponding date in Sejong Sillok whenever the ceremonies were held before the ‘Oryeuiju(五禮儀注)’ was arranged. It is necessary to find out how the particular wedding costumes were decided on through examining the wedding rituals by period. In the situation where DaMingjili(大明集禮) was not obtained, DaTangKaiyuanli(大唐開元禮) became the standard for wedding ceremonies of the king and crown prince, and influenced names of wedding costumes for the queen and crown princess. Jiali(家禮) was valued as a method of reform, became the standard for wedding ceremonies of princes and princesses, and influenced names of wedding costumes for princesses and the wives of princes. Zhusizhizhang(諸司職掌) was regarded as a reference for the Ming dynasty’s wedding system, and influenced the name of the queen's wedding costume and the crown prince's wedding ceremony in the 6th year(1460) of King Sejo.
