『문화전선』을 통해 본 북한시학 형성기 연구 (A Study on the Formative Period of North Korean Poetics -Focusing on Munhwa Jeonseon(Cultural Front)-)

초록

이 논문은 1945-1948년을 북한시학 형성기로 정한다. 이 시기는 북한시의 모습을 문예지 『문화전선』을 통해 살펴보고자한다. 북한시가 김 부자 찬양 문학이며, 정치 선동의 구호일 뿐이라는 것은 일반의 상식이지만 이 상식을 실증적이거나 체계적으로 살핀 연구는 많지 않았다. 북한시가 김일성, 김정일 찬양과 체제 선전 일색의 정치 문학인지, 그렇다면 언제부터 어떻게 어떤 과정을 거쳐 이루어진 것인지, 감정과 정신의 예술인 문학이 정치화되는 과정의 충돌과 고민은 어떻게 드러나고 사라졌는지를 확인하기 위해 당시 간행된 문예지 『문화전선』 전 5권을 살펴보고자 한다.
1946년 7월에 창간된 『문화전선』은 시기적으로도 앞서 있을 뿐 아니라, 북조선예술총동맹 기관지로 당시 문학계의 대표 잡지로서 의미를 가지고 있다. 이 잡지에 실린 시와 관련 평론들을 통해 북한문학이 형성되는 초기의 상황과 변화를 살펴볼 수 있다. 『문화전선』 전 5권에는 총 12명의 시인 27편의 시가 실렸다. 안룡만, 백인준, 리찬, 이원우, 조기천 등 북한 시단의 대표적 시인들의 시 27편은 다음 몇 가지 주제로 분류된다. 해방의 기쁨과 귀환, 토지개혁으로 대표되는 새 시대에 대한 희망, 소련에 대한 우호감정 등이 대표적인데 이는 북조선인민위원회 탄생을 기점으로 시의 정치성이 강화되고 김일성에 대한 찬양이 분명히 드러나게 된다.
이러한 경향은, 새로운 시대에 대한 환호에서 출발하는 북한문학 초기 시와 평론을 통해 설명할 수 있다. 새로운 시대, 새로운 제도에 대한 호감과 이를 시로 표현하는 소박한 장르인식이 권력자에 대한 환호와 그에 대한 우상시로 쉽게 변화하게 하는 바탕이 된 것이다. 한설야의 「모자」 수거 사태와 「응향」 사건은 표현의 자유와 그 한계를 보여 주었을 뿐 아니라, 북한당국과 문학과의 수직 관계를 극명하게 보여주었다.

영어초록

This paper sets the period from 1945 to 1948 as the formative period of North Korean poetics. It aims to examine North Korean poetry of this period in Munhwa Jeonseon(Cultural Front). It is a common knowledge that North korean poems deal with the glorification of father and son, Kim, Ilseong and Kim, Jeongil and are slogans of political agitations. However, there are not many researches which study and prove this empirically and systematically. It is necessary to look into all 5 literary magazines Munhwa Jeonseon, published at that time to see whether North Korean poetry is a political literature, glorifying Kim, Ilseong and Kim, Jeongil and propagandizing the political system, then from when and how did it begin, how the crash and agony during the process in which literature as an art of emotion and mind was being politicalized.
Published the first issue in July 1946, Munhwa Jeonseon is ahead of other literary magazines in time and has the meaning of a representative literary magazine as an organ of B'uk Joseon Yesul Chong Dongmaeng(General Association of North Korean Art) Poems and criticisms in this magazine allow us to look at the situation and change at the early formative period of North Korean literature. 27 poems of total 12 poets are appeared in 5 books of Munhwa Jeonseon. 27 poems of representative North Korean poets, such as Ahn, Ryongman, Baek, Injun, Lee Ch'an, Lee, Wonwoo, Cho, Gicheon are categorized into the following themes. THe joy of liberation and return, hope for a new age with land reform, friendship toward Soviet Union are often expressed in those poems. This reveals that with the establishment of B'uk Joseon Inmin Wiwonhoe (North Korean Council of People's) as a starting point, political characteristics of poems are enforced and the glorification of Kim, Ilsung is clearly presented.
This tendency can be explained in early North Korean poems and criticisms which begin with acclamation for a coming new era. Simple recognition on literary genre expressing good feeling toward a new age and new system in poems becomes the basis for the easy change of poems presenting cheer for the man of power and idolization of him. Han, Seolya's taking back of his short novel 'Moza'(Hat) and poem book 'Unghyang' incident clearly show not only freedom of express and limitation of it and also the vertical relation between North Korean authorities and literature. This paper proves the literary mechanism effected in this relation with poems and criticisms in Munhwa Jeonseon.
