고고자료로 본 양산지역 정치체의 추이 (The characteristics and trend of polity in the ancient Yangsan through archaeological data)

초록

양산지역은 일제강점기에 이루어진 부부총 발굴조사 이후 지금까지 발굴조사가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 양산지역 정치체의 성격은 크게 신라지방세력설과 독립정치체설로 양분되고 있으나 아직까지는 신라로 보는 시각이 우세하다. 양산지역을 신라의 권역으로 인식하면 지리적으로 금관가야와 낙동강을 사이에 둔 최전방 전선에 해당된다. 최근에 이루어진 양산지역 고분 분포 조사에서 약 1000기를 넘는 고분이 확인된 바 있는데 과연 양산지역이 신라의 최전방이라면 수많은 고분이 축조될 수 있을까라는 의문에서 본 연구가 시작되었다.
본고에서는 양산지역 고분의 개별 묘제 분석을 통해 고분의 특징, 정치체의 성격과 변동에 대한 고고학적인 접근을 시도하였다. 분석결과 양산지역 고분은 3~5세기 전반경에는 금관가야의 영향을 강하게 받고 있었음을 확인할 수 있었고 수혈계횡구식석실묘가 조영되는 5세기 중후반에 이르면서 변화가 감지된다. 부부총과 그 인근 고총고분의 묘제는 가야 특유의 수혈계횡구식석실을 사용하지만 부장유물의 내용적 측면에서는 신라의 고총 출토품과 높은 유사성을 보인다. 재지적 성격을 가진 묘제를 매장주체부로 하며 입지 선정 등을 통해 가야적인 요소를 가지고 있음을 확인하였음과 동시에 부장유물에서는 신라적인 색채를 가지고 있음도 확인된다. 이는 양산이 창녕과 같은 신라와 접경을 이루는 변경지역에 위치한 결과로 판단된다. 장신구와 같은 유물을 통해 신라와 밀접한 관계성을 가졌음을 부정할 수는 없겠지만, 이러한 현상을 반드시 신라의 일부이자, 신라 중앙에서 파견된 귀족으로 단정할 수는 없다. 전반적인 고분문화를 통해 볼 때 양산 정치체는 가야 정치체이자 이후 독립된 소국으로서의 위상을 이어가다가 금관가야가 멸망하는 6세기 전엽 이후부터 방형 석실묘가 축조되는 단계에 이르러 점차 신라의 지방으로 완전한 편재가 이루어졌을 것이다. 전반적인 고분문화를 통해 볼 때 창녕과 같이 신라 접경지역의 가야 정치체로 판단된다.

영어초록

In the Yangsan area, excavations have been actively conducted since the couple's gun excavation survey conducted in Japanese colonial era. The characteristics of politics in Yangsan are largely divided into the theory of local power in Silla and the theory of independent politics, but so far, the view of Silla is dominant. Recognizing the Yangsan area as Silla's area, it is geographically the front line between Geumgwan Gaya and Nakdonggang River. A recent survey on the distribution of tombs in Yangsan confirmed more than 1,000 tombs, and this study began with the question of whether numerous tombs could be built if the Yangsan area was at the forefront of Silla.
In this paper, an archaeological approach to the characteristics of ancient tombs, the nature and changes of political bodies was attempted through the analysis of individual seedlings of ancient tombs in Yangsan. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that ancient tombs in Yangsan were strongly influenced by Geumgwan Gaya around the first half of the 3rd to 5th centuries, and changes are detected as they reach the mid-to-late 5th century when the blood transfusion plan stone chamber was built. The tomb of the couple's tomb and the nearby ancient tomb use Gaya's unique stone chamber for blood transfusion planning, but in terms of the contents of the burial relics, it shows high similarity to Silla's ancient tombs excavated. It is confirmed that the tomb with a residential character is the burial subject, and that it has Gaya elements through location selection, and at the same time, it is also confirmed that it has a Silla-style color in the burial relics. This is believed to be the result of Yangsan being located in the border area bordering Silla such as Changnyeong. It cannot be denied that it was closely related to Silla through relics such as ornaments, but this phenomenon cannot necessarily be concluded as a part of Silla and a nobleman dispatched from the center of Silla. From the overall ancient tomb culture, Yangsan politics continued its status as a Gaya politics and an independent small country, and gradually became a part of Silla when square stone chamber tombs were built from the beginning of the 6th century when Geumgwan Gaya collapsed. From the overall ancient tomb culture, it is judged to be a Gaya political body in the Silla border area like Changnyeong.
