개혁주의 관점에서 본 신사도개혁운동 (The Reformed’s View on The New Apostolic Reformation Movement)

초록

신사도개혁운동은 1990년대 이후 일어나고 있는 성령운동 혹은 은사운동으로서, 와그너가(Peter Wagner)가 1997년에 정의한 교회 성장과 관련된 이론이다. 단순히 와그너의 창작물이 아니라 20세기 초반 이후 비성경적이라고 규정된 여러 성령운동들의 복합체라 하겠다.
신사도개혁운동의 핵심은 초대교회의 사도가 아직도 승계되어 현존하고 있다는 것이다. 따라서 오늘날의 사도 역시 초대교회 당시의 사도와 동일한 은사를 갖고 있다는 것이다. 대표적인 것으로서 성경의 권위보다 우월한 계시를 지금도 받고 있으며 초대교회의 사도들보다도 탁월한 표적과 기사와 능력을 행한다는 것이다. 또한 성경적인 근거가 없는 여러 현상들을 성령의 역사로 간주하고 있다.
하지만 이러한 주장들은 개혁주의에서는 받아들일 수 없는 허무맹랑한 이야기이다. 사도직분은 초대 교회 이후 더 이상 존재하지 않는다. 신사도개혁운동 주창들은 성경에 기록된 사도의 자격과 용례를 오해하고 있으며, 사도와 관련된 성경구절(고전12:28; 엡4:11)을 잘못 해석하고 있으며, 궁극적으로 완성된성경의 권위를 부정하는 부류라 하겠다. 진정한 사도는 열 두 제자와 바울뿐이다.
사도직 복원은 비성경적인 주장이다. 왜냐하면 그들은“오직 성경으로”를거부하고“성경 외 계시”“( Scripture Plus Apostolic Tradition”)를 주장하고 있기때문이다. 성경의 권위를 전혀 인정하지 않고 성경 본문을 자가당착적으로 해석하고, 역사적이고 전통적 신학을 부인하는 자들이다. 사도는 오직 성경시대에만 존재했던 특별한 직무요 은사이다. 따라서 오늘날 사도직의 복원에 기초한 신사도개혁운동은 비성경적인 종교운동이라 할 것이다. 안타까운 현실은한국의 많은 교회들이 양적 성장에만 매몰되어 신사도개혁운동을 성령운동이란 미명하에 무분별하게 받아들이고 있다는 것이다.

영어초록

In 1997, Peter Wagner coined the term “New Apostolic Reformation” to anup-and-rising Spiritual gifts movement that is related to the theory of churchgrowth. Wagner, however, was not the creator of this movement. He simplycombined many non-biblical Spiritual movements after the early 20th centuryand termed the collection of movements as the “New Apostolic Reformation.”The purpose of the NAR movement is to encourage the faith of the Apostlesof the early Church. This movement supports the idea that the same Spiritualgifts and powers the early Apostles had still exist today. Thus, supportersbelieve that Apostles exist in today’s Church.
At its root, the NAR believes that today’s Apostles receive a Spiritualrevelation that is far superior than those the Apostles of the early churchreceived. Supporters of the NAR believe that they receive new insights andblessings that the early Church did not receive. They also believe today'sApostles can perform signs and miracles that are superior to those the originalapostles performed. Similarly, they regard many of the miraculous symptomsas true works of the Holy Spirit when they are not based on Biblical truth.
The NAR Movement cannot be accepted by Reformed Theology becausethere is no Biblical basis to the movement. Contrary to the NAR, theReformed Theology’s belief is that Apostles do not exist after Biblical times.
Those who believe in the ideas of the NAR misunderstand the qualifications ofan Apostle and misinterpret Bible verses related to the office of Apostles (1Cor. 12:28; Ep. 4:11). Furthermore, the NAR denies the authority of thecompleted Bible, which includes the belief that the only Apostles are the 12Disciples and Paul. The idea that Apostles still exist today is unbiblical becausethey deny “Sola Scriptura” and insists “Scripture Plus Apostolic Tradition.”Followers of the NAR do not realize the authority of the Bible and they deny260 개혁논총영문초록historical traditional theology. According to traditional theology, Apostles onlyexisted during the Biblical era, in which the Twelve and Paul received specialGod-ordained gifts and powers. Therefore, the restoration of Apostles intoday’s Church is unbiblical, making NAR an unbiblical religious movement.
Unfortunately, many churches in Korea accept the ideas and beliefs of theNAR as a God-ordained spiritual movement because of its connection tochurch growth.
