영남권 문집의 특색과 권역별 협동번역사업의 성과 (Characteristics of Literary Anthologies in the Yeongnam Region and Achievements of the Regional Collaborative Translation Project)

초록

본고는 한국고전번역원에서 기획한 권역별거점연구소 협동번역사업을 15년간 수행하면서 수반된 영남권 번역팀의 구성과 변동 과정, 영남권 문집의 특색과 번역서 간행 이후의 학술 연구 성과 현황 등을 연구한 논문이다. 한국고전번역원에서 한국문집총간 소재 문집들을 효과적으로 국역하기 위해 중장기적으로 기획한 권역별거점연구소 협동번역 사업은 단계별로 10년간씩 30년간 3단계로 기획되었다. 또 단계별로는 1기 2기 3기로 나누어 1기와 2기는 3년간씩 6년간의 사업이고 3기는 4년간의 사업이다. 영남권 거점연구소는 2010년 출범 당시에는 중형 2곳, 소형 1곳으로 출발하였다. 그러다가 3년 만에 중형 2곳은 각각 소형 2곳으로 분리되어 5개의 소형이 되었다. 또 소형 1곳은 1단계 3기 사업이 시작되는 시점에 번역 사업을 자진 반납하여 2016년부터는 4개의 소형으로 구성되어 현재까지 그 규모를 유지하고 있다. 영남권 각 거점연구소에서 번역한 결과물은 4년째인 2013년부터 출간되기 시작하여 현재 33종의 번역서가 출간되었다. 번역서 출간은 학술연구성과로 나타나기 시작하였고, 고전번역원의 번역서 DB화 구축은 번역서 출간 이전과 비교하여 양적 질적인 차원에서 가파르게 상승세를 보이기도 하였다. 또 번역서 DB화 구축은 각 거점소에서 수행하는 문집 번역을 용이하게 하는 자양분이 되어 문구의 출전 찾기, 교유 인물 검색에서 DB 구축은 번역의 시간을 단축하는 효과를 발휘하였다. 그러므로 번역에 종사하는 사람들은 사명감을 가지고 독자를 위한 친절한 번역, 학적 교류를 활발하게 하는 번역, 콘텐츠 개발을 위한 번역 등을 위해 각고의 노력을 경주해야 할 필요성이 대두된다.

영어초록

This paper is a thesis that studied the composition and transformation process of the Yeongnam region translation team, the characteristics of the Yeongnam region anthology, and the current status of academic research results after the publication of translations while carrying out the regional base research institute cooperative translation project planned by the Korea Institute of Antiquities and Translation for 15 years. The regional base research institute cooperative translation project was planned in three stages for 30 years, step by step, for 10 years in order to effectively nationalize the collections of Korean literature by the Institute of Antiquities. In addition, the first and second phases are divided into two phases and three phases for three years, and the first and second phases are six-year projects for three years, and the third phase is four-year projects for three years. At the time of its launch in 2010, the Yeongnam Region Base Research Institute started with two medium-sized and one small-sized. Then, in three years, the two medium-sized ones were separated into two small-sized ones, respectively, and became five small-sized ones. In addition, one small-sized one voluntarily returned the translation project at the start of the first and third phase projects, and since 2016, it has been composed of four small-sized ones and has maintained its scale until now. The results of translation from each base research institute in the Yeongnam region began to be published in 2013, the fourth year, and 33 types of translations have been published. The publication of translations began to appear as a result of academic research, and the establishment of a translation DB by the Institute of Classical Translation also showed a sharp increase in both quantity and quality compared to before the publication of translations. In addition, the establishment of a translation DB served as a nourishment to facilitate the translation of literary texts performed at each base station, and the establishment of a DB reduced the time for translation in finding entry for phrases and searching for educated people. Therefore, it is necessary for those engaged in translation to make every effort for friendly translation for readers, translation to promote academic exchange, and translation for content development with a sense of mission.
