초록

도시의 가로공간은 이동의 통로라는 순기능 이외에 그 도시나 지역의 성격을 한 눈에 인지할 수 있게 하는 도시 속의 오픈스페이스면서 그 지역만의 이미지를 전달하는 중요한 기능을 가지고 있다. 현재 공공디자인 차원에서 서울시 및 지자체를 중심으로 가로경관 개선을 위해 활발한 환경벽화사업이 추진되고 있다. 그러나 가로변의 옹벽그래픽은 도시 내 산지가 많아 옹벽이 많음에도 불구하고 디자인에 대한 세심한 배려 없이 건립이 되어 도시환경과 지역이미지에 악영향을 준다는 문제가 제기 되고 있는 실정이다. 옹벽디자인은 가로변 노출면적, 시각적 효과 등을 고려할 때 도시경관에 미치는 영향이 지대하다. 가로경관을 위한 체계적인 옹벽디자인사업은 회색 빛 거리를 미래지향적 색채와 조형언어로 바꾸어 도시의 이미지 향상과 개성을 표출해주며 환경 친화적 그래픽을 적용하여 주민들의 새로운 인식과 호응을 높일 수 있게 해준다. 이러한 관점을 토대로 본 연구는 도시의 미관개선이란 총괄적인 사업의 큰 테두리에서 옹벽그래픽 사업을 벌이고 있는 도봉구자치구의 가로변 옹벽을 대상으로 사례 연구하였다. 본 연구는 이론적 토대를 위해 가로공간과 옹벽디자인의 기초적 선행연구를 하였다. 먼저 가로공간의 구성요소 및 형태를 살피고 옹벽디자인의 재료와 관련한 사례를 제시하였다. 다음은 옹벽디자인을 위한 가이드라인을 제시하기 위해 옹벽의 기능, 옹벽디자인의 기본요소, 옹벽디자인의 제작과정을 살펴보았다. 또한 이러한 이론적 토대를 바탕으로 흉물스럽게 방치되어 있거나 지나친 장식적인 벽화 및 슈퍼그래픽으로 시각적 혼란을 야기 시키는 도봉구 옹벽을 중심으로 분석하고 문제점을 제시하였으며 이를 해결하기 위한 옹벽디자인의 제시를 통해 지역 특성에 부합되는 문화적 이미지를 반영한 특색 있는 옹벽디자인을 제시하였다. 연구결과로서 가로미관 개선효과를 가질 수 있는 옹벽디자인의 기초자료가 되기를 기대하며 일상 속에서 예술을 향유할 수 있는 도시이미지 구축 및 지역 특성을 부여하는 가로공간 이미지 구축을 위한 옹벽디자인의 정보가 제시되었다.

영어초록

The City of Horizontal Space have an important function that the nature of the city or region can be perceived at a glance as open space in the city to convey the image of its own Regions in addition to the path of movement on basis. It would be pursuing an active environment Mural Painting for the improvement design of the streetscape in terms of public design on the city and municipality basis. However, the wall design of the roadside are now bringing up the problem that having adverse effect on the urban environment and community image built without attention to Details even though there are many retaining wall as many hills within the urban area. The retaining wall would have a decisive effect on the urban landscape that considering exposed area of the roadside and visual effect. For the streetscape design, the systematic work of retaining wall design might be changed the light of gray street to future oriented color and formative language that present the urban image improvement and its character, and might be applied the eco-friendly graphic that make a new awareness of the population and response high. This study, based on this point, go into the case study targeting streetscape retaining wall of the bstrer of the bstough DoBong Gu working the retaining wall design within the overall working as the fine view betterment. This study would go into the basic precedent study of the horizontal space and retaining wall design for the theoretical basis. First, it would be checked the component and shape of horizontal space, then would be presented the material and related case of retaining wall design. The following are investigated as the function of retaining wall, the basic element of retaining wall design, and the production process of design in order to give the guideline for its design. Based on the theoretical foundation, it would be analyzed and presented the problem around retaining wall in DoBong Gu that bring about visual distraction as a thing horrid left alone, over-decorated mural, and super-graphic. Also, based on the suggesting retaining wall design for solution , it would be given the distinctive retaining wall design that reflect cultural image within the regional characteristics. As a result of this study, it is expected to be basic material of retaining wall design able to get the improvement effect of the horizontal fine view, and it is suggested the information of retaining wall design for both the urban image building that enjoy the art in everyday life and the horizontal space image building that assign the regional characteristics.
