사이버 쇼핑몰 플리커(flicker) 이미지 표현차이가 이용자의 정보처리과정에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Differences in Representation of Shopping Mall Flicker Images on the Information Processing of Users)

초록

사이버 쇼핑몰 웹사이트에서 플리커 이미지는 다양한 상품에 대한 정보를 표현하고, 함께 열거된 다른 상품 이미지보다 더 부각되어 보이기 위해 문자 또는 그림과 같은 기호표현방식, 배경이미지 유무에 따른 복잡도 차이, 그리고 쇼핑몰에서 제공되는 화면 프레임 속도 등을 통해 이미지를 강조한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 표현의 차이는 극히 짧은 시간 내에도 이용자 정보처리과정에 영향을 줄 것이라는 예측되는 바, 단기간에 형성되는 이용자 정보처리과정으로 이용자의 주목, 시각기억, 상호작용의지에 대한 반응결과의 차이를 관찰하기 위하여 쇼핑몰 리스트 화면을 만들어 실험조사를 실시하였다.
분석결과 그림표현이 문자표현보다 주목과 상호작용의지에서 더 높게 나타났으며, 배경이 복잡한 플리커 이미지는 배경이 단순한 이미지보다 주목, 시각기억, 상호작용의지에 있어서 모두 높았다. 프레임 속도는 주목에 미치는 중요한 변수로 나타났으며, 빠른 프레임속도에서의 플리커 이미지가 주목강도가 가장 높았다. 그러나 이러한 빠른 프레임속도는 시각기억이나 상호작용의지에는 영향을 미친다고 볼 수 없었다. 기호표현*복잡정도와 기호표현*프레임속도에 있어서만 주목강도에 상호작용효과가 있었다. 이는 사이버 쇼핑몰의 플리커 이미지는 배경과 상품이미지표현이 모두 (사진)이미지로 표현된 경우가 단색 배경에 문자로 표현된 것보다 주목강도가 높고, 또한 빠른 프레임속도로 깜빡이는 그림(사진)으로 표현된 이미지가 느린 속도의 문자로 표현된 경우보다 주목강도가 높다는 것을 의미한다.

영어초록

In cyber s​hopping mall websites, flicker images represent a variety of information about the products and emphasize images through the use of, in order to highlight the images of listed products over other products’ images, symbol representations such as characters or figures, differences in complexity that is dependent on the presence of background image, and expression of differences in the delay time of frame changes provided by the shopping mall. In this study, since the differences between these representations are predicted to be exerting influences on the information processing of the users even during an extremely short period of time, in order to observe the difference in the responsive results in terms of the user’s attention level, visual memory and interaction intent, -as the information processing by the users that are formed in a very short time period- shopping mall list screens were prepared and experimental study was conducted.
As a result of analysis, the representation using figures was seen to be higher than the representation using characters with respect to the attention level and interaction intent, and the flicker images with complex background images were all seen to be higher than simple images in terms of attention level, visual memory and interaction intent. The frame speed was found to be an important variable that influences attention, and the flicker images at a fast frame speed showed the highest degree of attention. However, it could not be asserted that the fast frame speed influenced visual memory or interaction intent. Interaction effects were observed only in symbol representation*complexity and symbol representation*frame speed. This would indicate that the flicker images of cyber shopping malls have higher degree of attention when the background and product image representation were all done using images (See photo) as compared to product image representation done using only one color background and character representation and, in addition, the images done with figures (See photo) flickering at a fast speed have a higher degree of attention as compared to the cases of product image representation done using characters at a slow speed.
