초록

본 연구는 훼손된 예술품의 원형복원을위한3차원 디지털 기술의 적용 가능성에 대한연구에서시작되었다. 특히, 이미 훼손된 예술품은본래의형태로되돌릴 수 없으며 손상된 상태로서도역사적사실을부여할 수 있기 때문에 원형 복원은추정만할뿐전시에서도 예술품 그대로 활용하고있어관람객에게도원형을 보여줄 수 없다. 본 연구의목적은디지털가상 형태 복원과 이미지 및 시뮬레이션복원을통해훼손된 출토 도자기 백자철화운룡문호의원형을추정하고 디지털 콘텐츠로서의 활용성을확인해보고자하는 것이다. 연구결과 및 내용은 다음과같다. 첫째, 가상 형태 복원은 3D 스캐닝으로 획득한도자기를상부, 하부 나누기, 조각으로 자르기, 복사및붙여넣기, 상부 및 하부 모델링을 진행하였다. 둘째, 복원후남아있는 운룡문을 기반으로 손상된부분을가상으로추정 복원해 애니메이션 영상 복원을하였다. 이러한연구결과를 바탕으로 단순히 보존으로서의의미외에3차원 융합기술 기반의 예술품 원형을다양하게재해석하고 복원 방향에 대한 새로운 패러다임을제시할수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 가상복원이라는3차원 디지털 기술과 이미지 및 영상복원기술의융복합적 연구 결과물로 향후 예술품의디지털가상복원을 통해 애니메이션, 홀로그램, 미디어아트등의다양한 디지털 콘텐츠 개발로의 확대발전시킬수있는연구가 지속적으로 이루어질 것이며, 본 연구가 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영어초록

This study began with the research on the possibility of applying 3D digital technology for restoration of original form of damaged artworks. In particular, since artworks that have already been damaged artworks cannot be restored to their original state and it is not possible to endow historical facts in their damaged states, restoration of their original forms can only be presume and such artworks are utilized as they are in exhibition and it is not possible to illustrate their original forms to the visitors. The purpose of this study is to presume the original form of the White Porcelain Jar with Cloud and Dragon Design in Underglaze Iron, an excavated damaged ceramic, through digital virtual form restoration, and image and simulation restoration, as well as to confirm its usability as digital contents for excavated damaged ceramics.
Results and contents of the study are as follows.
First, for virtual form restoration, dividing into top and bottom portions, cutting into pieces, copying and attachment, and top and bottom portion modeling were executed with the ceramics acquired through 3D scanning. Second, damaged portion is virtually estimated and restored based on the cloud and dragon design that remains after restoration for animation video restoration. Based on these study results, it is deemed possible to diversely re-interpret the original form of artworks based on 3D convergence technology and to present new paradigm for the direction of restoration in addition to the significance only as a simple preservation.
Furthermore, it is anticipated that the results of this study can be utilized as basic data in studies capable of further expanding and advancing the development of diversified digital contents including animation, hologram and media art, etc. through digital virtual restoration of artworks in the future as the convergent research outcomes of 3D digital technologies, and image and video restoration technologies for virtual restoration, which will continue in the future.
