초록

본 논문은 月沙 李廷求 가계의 문학적 특성을 고구하기 위한 일환으로 먼저 그의 아들 白洲 李明漢의 한시를 대상으로 월사의 영향과 차이를 살펴보았다.
백주에 대한 시화는 일부 흠결이 언급된 부분도 있지만, 대체적으로 천부적인 자질에 대한 인정과 거기에서 파생된 일화들로 이루어져 있다. 이 일화들은 조선중기 문단에서 백주의 문학적 위상을 잘 보여준다. 실제 『백주집』에 수록된 즉흥적으로 읊은 뛰어나고 감각이 돋보이는 口號나 口占이 110편이 들어 있어 이 단편적 사실에서도 천부적인 자질이 입증된다.
시화에서는 백주의 시를 豪逸․俊逸․豪放․淸切이라는 용어로 평한다. 월사에 대한 평도 豪放․飄逸로 유사한 면모를 보인다. 이러한 父子 간 풍격의 유사성은 영향에서 비롯된다는 것을 부인하기 어렵다. 두 사람 모두 이백을 선호하였으며 그러한 성향이 시에 반영된 것이다. 하지만 간극도 존재한다. 豪放의 경우 월사의 웅장함에 백주가 미치지는 못했다. 표일의 정취에 있어서도 월사의 시는 세상 안에서 세상과 거리를 두는 태도를 자연스럽게 연출하였다. 반면 백주의 시는 월사와 달리 세상과의 거리를 분명하게 두고 있다.
월사와 백주의 시를 살펴보면 감정의 분출과 절제라는 측면에서 월사는 백주에 비하여 훨씬 적극적이다. 자신에 대한 자책이나 귀전원의 갈등을 그대로 노정한다. 하지만 백주는 힘겨운 상황에서도 좌절하거나 힘들다고 토로하지 않았다. 오히려 희망을 찾으려 노력하고 그것이 시에 자연스럽게 드러나 있다. 그리고 자연을 묘사함에 있어 월사는 자신의 감정이입이 많은 편이지만, 백주는 아름다운 풍경을 있는 그대로 묘사할 뿐 자신의 감정을 직접 말하지 않는 편이다. 이와 같이 백주와 월사의 시는 비슷한 풍격을 지니고 있으나 감정의 분출과 절제라는 표현의 차이를 확연히 보여주고 있다.
이 차이는 시 형식의 선호에서도 찾아 볼 수 있다. 시 구수의 제한은 감정의 표출에 제한을 가져온다. 그래서 형식의 다양성 면에서 비교적 균형을 이루고 있는 월사의 시와 달리, 백주의 시는 총 1,355수 가운데 표현의 절제가 요구되는 칠언절구가 509수로 가장 많다. 하지만 이것이 시적 완성도와 효과의 차이를 가져오는 것은 아니다. 이 두 사람 모두 당대에 시문으로 이름을 날린 인물로 그 성취에 대하여 인정을 받았기 때문이다.
이상과 같이 백주와 월사의 문학은 영향관계가 있고, 시풍에 있어서도 비슷한 평가를 받고 있으나 자신만의 개성은 분명히 존재하였다.

영어초록

This thesis firstly examined effects of Wolsa and differences from him for Chinese poems of Baekju Lee, Myunghan so as to research literary characteristics of Wolsa Lee, Jungku's family.
Some defects of poems and pictures of Baekju were mentioned, but it's generally organized by recognition of God-given talents and anecdotes derived from it. These anecdotes show literary status of Baekju in literary circles of the mid-Joseon period. Actually, there are 110 works of guho(口號) or gujeom(口占), which show his excellent sense of imprompt reciting, in 『Collection of Baekju』. They approve his God-given talents.
In poems and pictures, Baekju's poems are evaluated as Hoil(豪逸)․Junil(俊逸)․Hobang(豪放)․Chungjul(淸切). Evaluations of Wolsa show similar aspects of Hobang(豪放)․Phyoil(飄逸). It's difficult to deny that similarities of characteristics between father and son are generated from the effects. But, there are differneces between father and son. Both of them preferred Eabaek and the tendency was reflected to poems. In case of Hobang(豪放), Baekju didn't make any effect on grandiosity of Wolsa. For the mood of Pyoil, poems of Wolsa naturally showed an attitude to keep their distance with the world in the world. On the other hand, poems of Baekju clearly keep their distance with the world, unlike Wolsa.
If examining poems of Wolsa and Baekju, Wolsa is much more active than Baekju from angles of emotional spurt and moderation. They expose blaming for themselves and conflicts of the country-returning as they are. But, Baekju was neither frustrated nor speaking his mind in spite of tough situations. He made efforts to find a hope and it is naturally shown in poems. And, Wolsa showed lots of empathy for description of the nature, but Baekju doesn't tend to speak about his emotion directly, but just describes beautiful landscape as it is. Therefore, poems of Baekju and Wolsa habe similar characteristics each other and show clear differences of emotional spurt and moderation.
Those differences can be found in the preference of poetic form. The limitation of the number of poetic lines brings the limitations of emotional spurt. So, among the total 1,355 poems of Baekju, there are the most quatrains with seven Chinese characters in each line requiring moderation of expression, unlike Wolsa's poems which are relatively balanced from an angle of formative diversity. However, it doesn't bring the differences between poetic completion and effects because both of two persons achieved recognition for their achievements as persons who are famous for poetry and prose in the time.
Therefore, Baekju's literary and Wolsa's one are in influencing relations each other and their style of poetry received similar evaluation, but there were cleary their own individualities respectively.
