조선시대 배씨댕기를 응용한 헤어아트: 오방색과 국화를 중심으로 (Hair Art applying Baessi Deanggi in the Joseon Dynasty: Focusing on the Obangsaek and Chrysanthemums)

초록

2021년 트렌드 중 하나인 에스닉모드는 각 국가의 민족적 요소를 세계인들이 거부감 없이 우호적이고 긍정적으로 받아들여 이를 통해 산업활동을 할 수 있는 배경이 되고 있다. 우리나라의 조선시대 여아의 머리 장신구인 배씨댕기는 실용성과 장신구로서의 미적인 표현이 뛰어나 지금도 세대를 초월하여 사랑받고 있다. 본 연구는 우리 조상들의 정서가 담긴 배씨댕기를 모티브로 하고 국화 문양와 오방색을 이용하여 조선시대 전통의 미와 현대인의 미적 욕구가 가미된 뉴트로 배씨댕기 작품을 제시하고자 한다. 디자인 개발을 위해 인터넷과 선행연구 등을 통해 배씨댕기의 자료를 검색하고, 머리 장신구의 조형적 특성과 내재적 의미를 고찰하였다. 작품연구 방법은 선정된 5개의 배씨댕기 모티브를 현대적으로 단순화시켜서 일러스트를 제작하고, 작품의 재료는 오방색으로 염색된 양단을 바탕으로 하였으며 금속과 자개, 옥을 이용하여 오브제를 구성하였다. 작품1은 오방색 중 적색을 바탕으로 대국과 소국으로 풍성함과 넉넉함을 표현하였다. 작품2는 햇볕의 의미를 담은 청색 바탕에 2단의 국화를 입체적으로 디자인하여 찬란한 햇볕의 의미를 담았다. 작품3은 백색의 바탕 위에 은은한 녹색의 옥꽃술을 사용하여 고상한 이미지가 돋보이게 제작하였다. 작품4는 흑색 바탕에 두 송이의 연분홍 대국이 조화를 이루도록 제작하였다. 작품5는 오방색의 중심이 되는 황색 장식이 축이 되어 오방색의 작은 장식들이 연이어지는 디자인을 하였다. 연구결과 배씨댕기라는 전통 소재가 시대변화에 따른 소비자의 감성에 맞추어 현대적 작품으로 완성될 수 있으며, 이는 향후 미용 산업 뿐 아니라 패션 산업의 아이템으로 확장될 수 있는 다양한 디자인 개발로 이어질 수 있음을 확인하였다. 전통문화에 대한 지식과 디자인 기술개발 연구와 마케팅 전략이 이어진다면 글로벌 산업 분야의 성장 가능성 있는 아이템이 될 수 있을 것이라 사료된다. 장기적 계획에 따른 문화상품 개발 시스템이 구축되어지고 이를 계승할 수 있는 후속의 창의적 연구들이 이어지기를 기대한다.

영어초록

Ethnic mode, one of the trends for 2021, is a background that allows people around the world to accept each country’s ethnic elements in a friendly and positive way without hesitation, and through this, participate in industrial activities. Baessi deanggi, a hair ornament for girls in the Joseon Dynasty, was excellent in practicality and aesthetic expression as an ornament, and is still loved by generations. This study intends to present the Neutrobaessi deanggi artwork that reflects the traditional beauty of the Joseon Dynasty and the aesthetic needs of modern people with the motif of Baessi deanggi using a chrysanthemum pattern and Obangsaek. For design development, data of Baessi deanggi were searched through the Internet and prior research, and the formative characteristics and internal meaning of the headdress were considered. As for the research method, the selected five Baessi daenggi motifs were modernly simplified and illustrations were produced. Artwork 1, which is based on red among the five colors, uses large and small chrysanthemum flowers to express abundance and abundance. Artwork 2 is a three-dimensional design of two-tiered chry- santhemums on a blue background, meaning sunlight, and contains the meaning of bright sunlight. Artwork 3 uses delicate green jade flowers on a white background to emphasize the noble image. Artwork 4 is a harmonious combination of two large pink chrysanthemum flowers on a black background. In work 5, small decorations of the Obangsaek were designed one after the other with the yellow decoration as the center of the Obangsaek. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the traditional material called ‘Baessi deanggi’ can be completed into a modern work according to the consumer’s sensibility and various designs according to the changing times. If research and marketing strategies for the future beauty industry as well as fashion industry items, knowledge of traditional culture, and development of design technology continue, it is evaluated as an item with potential for growth in the global industry. It is expected that a cultural product development system will be established according to the mid- to long-term plan, and subsequent creative research that can succeed it is expected to continue.
