인문교양을 위한 대학 글쓰기 수업 방안 : 문학작품을 연계한 글쓰기를 중심으로 (College Writing Classes for Liberal Arts : With a focus on writing that links literary works)

초록

본 연구는 대학 교육과정에서의 글쓰기가 인문교양 과목으로 거듭나기 위한 방향을 제시하기 위한 것이다.
글쓰기 수업이 인문교양 과목으로 거듭나기 위해서는 문학작품과 글쓰기를 연계하여 성찰과 치유를 이끌어낼 수 있는 수업으로 유도되어 인간다운 삶과 주체적 삶에 대한 자각이 이루어지도록 해야 한다. 인문교양 글쓰기 교육을 위해 문학이 도구로 활용되는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 문학 중에서도 특히, 시를 활용한 글쓰기 수업은 사고력 증진 효과와 심층적 성찰에로 이끌 수 있다. 따라서 자아정체성 확립과 주체적 삶에 대한 자각이 부족한 학생들에게 시를 매개로한 글쓰기 수업은 성찰과 치유를 이끌어내 자기이해와 위로를 줄 뿐만 아니라, 자아정체성 확립과 주체적 인간으로 살아갈 수 있는 원동력을 마련해 줄 수 있을 것이다.
시를 활용한 성찰과 치유의 글쓰기 수업은 5단계로 나뉘어 진행할 수 있다. 1단계에서는 시 자유 감상과 메모하는 단계, 2단계는 교수자가 질문을 하고 각자 답을 작성하는 단계, 3단계는 2단계 내용에 대해 발표하기 단계, 4단계는 발표 내용과 자신의 생각을 종합하여 자신의 생각을 정리하는 단계, 5단계는 1~4단계를 통합하여 최종적으로 한편의 글을 완성하는 마지막 단계이다.
이와 같이 시와 연계하여 자신을 돌아보게 하는 글쓰기는 다른 텍스트를 활용할 때보다 성찰과 치유 효과를 극대화할 수 있기 때문에 자신에 대한 통찰과 정서적 안정을 얻을 수 있게 한다. 이러한 효과는 학교생활에 대한 적응과 학습능력 향상으로도 이어질 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

This study was conducted to present direction for writing in university educational courses as a liberal arts subject. The direction that is presented is to allow people to newly understand the nature of liberal arts and next, to create classes that can induce introspection and healing, and to allow students self-awareness in life as autonomous individuals. In other words, university writing classes must be utilized as a time of learning and as a time that allows students to understand the correlation between a decent life and a humanistic spirit that shows the effect of the humanities on human living.
You can use poetry to teach writing lessons for reflection and healing. The class on reflective and healing writing using poetry can be divided into five stages. Stage 1 is the stage where students freely appreciate poetry and write notes, stage 2 is the stage where the instructor asks questions and each student writes his or her own answers, stage 3 is the stage where students present the content of stage 2, stage 4 is the stage where students organize their thoughts by synthesizing the presentation content and their own thoughts, and stage 5 is the final stage where students complete the writing by integrating stages 1 to 4. In order to proceed with writing using poetry in stages, five poems on the same topic were selected, and in the final writing, students wrote about a topic related to the presented poem.
If actual practice processes of writing are experienced using various topics through which introspection and healing can be achieved in actual university writing classes, then self-awareness of life as autonomous human beings can be achieved so that life is not one of slavery and mechanical living and the horizon of understanding with regard to one’s self and the world will expand and according to that, ‘self-discovery’ and the internal strength to foster one’s self will develop along with critical thinking skills and empathy, allowing for reform into a free and decent life.
