중부지방 신라 유적의 연구 및 조사현황과 성격 고찰-서울․경기․강원지역을 중심으로- (Temporal and spatial identity of Silla culture in middle districts -Centering around Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon area(districts)-)

초록

이 글은 중부지방에서 이제까지 조사된 신라 유적과 유물의 연구 및 조사현황을 살펴보고, 과연 신라 문화의 성격은 무엇이며 어떻게 이해해야 되는지 알아보고자 마련하였다. 물론 현 단계에서 신라 문화가 어떤 것인지 정의 내리기가 매우 어려운 문제이지만 지역별 조사 및 연구 성과를 통해 몇가지 특징을 알 수 있다.
신라는 서울·경기지역보다 강원 특히 영동지역부터 영역화를 시도했고, 481년에 벌어졌던 니하에서의 전투가 계기가 된 듯하다. 그리고 6세기 초에 이르면 실직주와 하슬라주에 군주를 파견하여 실질적인 지배를 이루게 된다. 이와 관련된 유적으로는 강릉 초당동·병산동 고분군과 강릉 강문동·병산동 주거지이다. 특히 고분은 5세기로 접어들면서 강릉 여러 곳에 중형급의 석곽묘가 조성되기 시작하고, 장신구류와 마구류 등 수장층이 사용한 유물들이 부장되었다. 또한 부장된 토기들은 경주 중심의 신라 토기들과 일부는 창녕 및 의성지역 토기들도 출토되고 있다. 6세기 이후에는 횡혈식 석실분이 등장하고, 석곽묘는 상대적으로 작아지며 부장품의 양도 적어진다. 이는 신라의 직접 지배에 따른 현상으로도 풀이된다. 성곽은 영서지역에서는 춘천 봉의산성이, 영동에서는 강릉 명주산성과 방내리성, 우계산성이 주목된다. 또 정선 송계리와 고성리 산성도 교통로 장악과 관련하여 5~6세기에 축성된 것으로 밝혀졌다. 서울·경기지역은 6세기 중반경에 영역화가 이루어졌는데, 553년 신주 설치와 555년 진흥왕의 북한산 순행이 그것이다. 주요 유적으로는 하남 이성산성을 비롯한 이천 설봉산성, 안성 죽주산성, 평택 자미산성, 여주 파사성 등이 대표적이고, 서울 아차산성이나 호암산성, 포천 반월산성, 남양주 퇴뫼·불암산성 등은 점령시기가 다소 늦은 것으로 이해되고 있다. 이들 성곽에서는 성곽 이름을 알 수 있는 명문 기와나 목간 자료가 확보되기도 했으며, 건물지와 저수시설, 문지 등이 조사되었다. 고분은 용인 보정동과 여주 상리·매룡리·하거리, 하남 덕풍동·금암산·객산, 서울 아차·용마산 등에 조성되었고, 종류는 횡혈식·횡구식 석실분, 석곽묘 등이 있다. 그리고 파주 성동리와 여주 매룡리 고분에서는 금동관이 출토되어 지방 지배자의 실체를 파악하는데 도움을 주고 있다.
주거지는 포천 성동리 유적과 용인 마북동 유적이 6C중~후반경에 형성되고, 이천 갈산동이나 용인 영덕동, 평택 도일동, 화성 청계리 등은 그보다 늦은 시기에 들어서게 된다. 주거지들의 입지는 평지와 구릉지대로 나눠지고 구들의 구조와 출토 유물을 바탕으로 시기구분도 가능하여 신라인들의 거주 영역 확대과정을 유추하는데 도움이 되고 있다.

영어초록

After examining the fruit of study all the time and the current excavation condition, I looked into the identity of Silla culture in middle districts based on feature of each relics and ruins. But at the present stage, it is hard to deal with identity of Silla culture. But I could know several features through the fruit of study and regional investigation.
Silla tried territorialization from Gwangwon especially Youngdong rather than Seoul, Gyeonggi. As the result of the action it seemed to be the war in Niha. And at the beginning 6 century Silla dispatched a monarch to Siljikju, Hasllaju so they ruled substantially those areas. As the remains related to these facts, there were ancient tombs in Gangneung Chodang-dong, Byeongsan-dong and there were dwelling sites in Gangneung Gangmun-dong, Byeongsa-dong. Especially an ancient tomb started to make middle-sized stoned tombs since the beginning of 5 centurys in several places of Gangneung, and remains which were used by leaders such like personal ornaments and harness ornaments etc. were buried together. Also burial earthenware were Silla earthenware centering around Gyeongju and earthenware in Changnyeong and Uiseong area. After 6 centuries Stone chamber with tunnel entrance appeared, and stoned tombs relatively became small and the amount of burial things in the tomb together decreased. This means the situation according to the direct rule of Silla. As the castle wall, Chuncheun Bongui Sanseong(mountain fortress wall) in Youngse area is noticed and in Youngdong area Gangneung Myeongju Sanseong(mountain fortress wall) and Bangnaeriseong, Ugaesaseong are noticed. And in relation to the rule of traffic routes Jeongsen Songgaeri and Goseongri Sanseong were built in 5~6 centuries. In Seoul and Gyeonggi area territorialization was realized in the middle of 6 centuries. We can know this through the establishment of Sinju in 553 and Jinheung king's patrol to Bukhan mountain in 555. As the major remains, Iseong Sanseong in Hanam, Serbong Sanseong in Icheon, Juckju Sanseong in Anseong, Jami Sanseong in Pyeongtaek and Pasa Seng in Yeoju are typical. The other Sanseong such like Seoul Acha Sanseong, Hoam Sanseong, Pochen Banwol Sanseong, Nanyangju Toemoi·Bulam Sanseong seemed to be occupied late. In these castle walls we could get Myeongmun roofing tile which could know the name of castle wall or Mockgan data. The site of the building and the facility of reservoir water were examined. The acient tombs were formed in Youngin Bojeong-dong, Yeoju Sangri·Maerongri·Hageri, Hanam Duckpung-dong·Kumamsan·Gaeksan, Seoul Achasan·Youngmasan etc. The kinds of ancient tombs were tunnel entrance style·lateral opening style stone chamber, stone lined tombs etc. And in ancient tombs of Paju Seongdong-Ri, Yeoju Maeroung-Ri, there were gilt bronze crowns so we could find the entity of the area's ruler.
The dwelling site was formed in Pocheon Seongdong-Ri, Youngin Mabuck-Dong in the middle and latter of 6 centuries. After that, Icheon Galsan-Dong or Youngin Youngduck-Dong, Pyeongtaek Doil-Dong formed the dwelling site. The location of the dwelling site divided into flat lands and hilly districts. Based on the construction of an ondol and artifacts we could divided the period and we could analogize extension stage of dwelling(residential) area in Silla people.
