    초록

    This paper aims to establish Central Asia's Islam and the anti-Russian trend by reassessing particularly historical surroundings of Imperial Russia and the Soviet Union. Central Asia's Islam and the anti-russia trend has been calculated by the Russian empire and the Soviet rule after they occupied Central Asia.
    This paper mainly deals with the significance of the Islam since Russian empire rule to the present time to understand national struggle against Russia and Soviet Union focused on Islam's diversity in the Central Asia. After independence of the Central Asia, Islam's fundamentalism has affected this area's peoples, and it enabled them to have the Islam's identity. It is true that Islam was severely persecuted and its infrastructure almost totally destroyed during the Soviet era. In the late 1980s, however, there was an Islamic resurgence. When the Central Asian states gained independence at the end of 1991 there was much speculation, within the region and abroad, as to the possible impact of the Islamic factor on politics and society. After the collapse of Soviet Union, above all in the Central Asia area, revival of the Islam has been started at the form of fundamentalism in the process of the State building.
    In this paper, I traced the past history of the traditional Islam. It is used to describe the conservative, overall rather passive attitude to religion that continue to characterize the outlook of the great majority of Central Asian Muslims. Islam here is still perceived more as an ethnic definition than as a religious allegiance. The another trend in Central Islam, here categorized as radical, embraces a loose grouping of activists who want to purge Islam of the distortions that have been introduced over time. They are collectively referred to as ' Wahhabis' a term that today, as during the Soviet era, is a generic expression of abuse rather than a literal description of religious affiliation. From the early 1990s onwards the radical trend has been gaining ground. In Tajikistan, it was one of the factors that led to the outbreak of the civil war. Above all I concentrated the anti-russia's trend from the first of nineteenth century to the Soviet era. After the independence of Central Asia, Islam is characterized anti-government' trend, and the anti-foreign.
    This paper aims to evaluate Islam in the Central Asia in that it has the origin of people's nationality. I discussed Central Asia's ideological understandings, islamic identity in the process of the Nation building.
