선사 문화유산 문화 영토인 반구천의 공유가치 고찰 : 반구대암각화를 중심으로 (Examining the shared values ​​of Bangucheon, a cultural territory of prehistoric cultural heritage: Focusing on Bangudae petroglyphs)

초록

반구대암각화는 수천 년 동안 자연 속에 존재해 왔지만, 현재 ‘사연댐’에 속해있어 여러 위험에 처해 있다. 특히 태풍으로 인한 침수와 수문 설치로 인해 훼손될 가능성이 커지고 있다. 국가유산청은 2013년과 2018년에 반구대암각화 앞에서 학술 발굴 조사를 진행했지만, 그 결과로 공룡 발자국 화석이 발견된 것이 주목받았다. 본 연구는 발굴 과정에서 드러난 환경이 암각화를 단순한 점으로 해석하는 제한적인 시각을 넘어, 반구대암각화의 원형 인식을 나타낸다고 주장하고자한다. 현재 문화유산 보존을 위한 완충지역이 암각화 구역으로 한정되어 있고, ‘사연댐’ 지역이 제외된 것은 암각화의 원형 보존 관점과 맞지 않다. 반구천 지역은 선사시대 인류의 삶을 담고 있는 중요한 유적지이며, 암각화는 그들의 집합체로서큰 의미를 지닌다. 따라서 반구대암각화에 대한 인문 지리적 접근이 필요하며, 수몰된 반구천의 매장 문화유산 발굴과 복원도 중요하다. 국가유산청은 암각화 침수를 최소화하기 위해 ‘사연댐’을 철거하는 대신 수위를 낮추고 수문을 설치하기로 했지만 수몰된 ‘사연호’ 지역 발굴에 대한 로드맵은 제시하지 않고 있다. 본 연구는 반구천의 문화유산 발굴이 선사 문화와 생태환경 보존에 기여할 수 있으며, 반구대암각화의 공유가치를 전달하는 박물관 및세계유산센터 건립에 필요한 콘텐츠를 제공할 수 있음을 강조한다. 궁극적으로이 연구의 목표는 잃어버린 반구천의 문화 영토를 복원하고 문화유산 보존에 기여하는 것이다.

영어초록

The Bangudae Petroglyphs have existed in nature for thousands of years, but they are currently part of the 'Sayeon Dam,' posing various risks. The potential for damage has increased, particularly due to flooding from typhoons and the installation of water gates.
The National Heritage Agency conducted academic excavations in front of the Bangudae Petroglyphs in 2013 and 2018, but what attracted attention was the discovery of dinosaur footprint fossils. This study aims to argue that the environment revealed during the excavation process represents the original recognition of the Bangudae Petroglyphs, going beyond the limited view of interpreting the petroglyphs as mere points.
Currently, the buffer zone for the preservation of cultural heritage is limited to the petroglyph area, and the 'Sayeon Dam' area is excluded, which does not align with the perspective of preserving the original form of the petroglyphs. The Bangudae region is an important site that contains the life of prehistoric humans, and the petroglyphs hold great significance as their collective representation. Therefore, a human-geographical approach to the Bangudae Petroglyphs is necessary, and the excavation and restoration of the submerged cultural heritage in Bangudae are also important.
The National Heritage Agency decided to lower the water level and install water gates instead of demolishing the 'Sayeon Dam' to minimize the submersion of the petroglyphs, but they have not presented a roadmap for the excavation of the submerged 'Sayeon Lake' area. This study emphasizes that the excavation of the cultural heritage in Bangudae can contribute to the preservation of prehistoric culture and the ecological environment, and provide the necessary content for the establishment of museums and World Heritage Centers to convey shared values. Ultimately, the goal of this study is to restore the lost cultural territory of Bangudae and contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage.
