백낙준 거문고산조 진양조 한 박의 분할시가에 대하여 (On Subdivisions of Beats of Baek Nak-jun’s Geomungo sanjo “Jinyangjo”)

초록

거문고산조의 초기 형태를 확인할 수 있는 음원인 백낙준 거문고산조는 단절된 역사를 갖고 있는 전통음악계에서 아주 귀중한 자료이다. 이 음원을 재현하기 위해 보다 더 객관적인 방법으로 접근해야 하는 이유는 채보가 가진 한계점을 인식하고 채보자의 음악관을 지양하여 그 음원이 가진 여러 의미에 직접적으로 다가서기 위함이다. 음원 <백낙준 거문고산조 진양조 상(上)>을 대상으로 컴퓨터 프로그램 ‘praat’을 사용하여 진 양조 한 박의 분할된 시간단위를 측정한 뒤, 이를 토대로 백낙준 거문고산조 진양조 한 박의 분할시가에 대해 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. <백낙준 거문고산조 진양조 上> 30장단 가운데 진양조 6박 중 한 박이 2점인 경우를 대상으로 관찰한 결과, 1박 2점이 출현한 횟수는 총 64회였으며, 이를 두 점 간의 시가 비율에 따라 유형을 살펴본 결과 1:1 비율의 2균등분할형과 1:2(2:1) 비율의 3균등분할형의 62점을 확인할 수 있었다. 1박 2점형 62박의 두 유형인 2균등분할형과 3균등분할형이 <백낙준 거문고산조 진양조 上> 30장단 중 우조, 평조, 계면조 상에서 나타나는 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 1박 2점형 2균등분할형은 우조에서는 동음반복형(모두 본청), 징2동(g', E♭')형이 있고, 평조에서는 동음반복형(본청 아래 4도), 둥당(c', f')형이 있으며, 계면조에서는 동음반복형(모두 본청), 징1징2(c",^d")형이 있다. 백낙준은 2균등분할형을 본청을 반복하거나 특정한 선율을 강조하 는 데 사용한 것을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 1박 2점형 중 3균등분할형은 우조에서는 한 번 출현하여 공통된 형태를 찾아볼 수 없었 으며, 평조에서도 4회 출현하나 공통된 형태를 찾아볼 수 없었다. 계면조에서는 동당(^a♭', g'; ^a♭", g")형을 찾아볼 수는 있었으나 그 출현 횟수가 2회뿐이다. 그러므로 1박 2점형 3균등분할형 은 특정한 선율형을 강조하는 선율로 쓰이지 않고 다양한 선율형을 표현하는 데 사용한 것을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 우조, 평조, 계면조에 걸쳐 3균등분할형은 우조에서는 14회 중 1회, 평조에서는 8회 중 4회, 계면조에서는 40회 중 23회로 나타났다. 이는 우조 악상의 특색을 살리기 위하여 3균등분할 형보다 2균등분할형을 주로 사용한 것을 알 수 있고, 평조와 계면조를 거치면서 특정한 유형을 갖추지 않은 다양한 3균등분할형을 2균등분할형과 같이 사용하여 진양조의 여러 선율적 특징을 다양한 리듬 분할을 통해 표현한 것을 알 수 있다.

영어초록

Baek Nak-jun’s Geomungo sanjo, an important sound source from which the early form of geomungo sanjo can be confirmed, is an invaluable material for traditional musical world which has an interrupted history. The reason that approach with more objective method is necessary for reproduction of this sound source is because we are to come closer directly to various meanings that the sound source has by rejecting written music’s uppermost limit and music writer’s outlook on the music. The result of investigation into the divisions of one beat of Baek’s Geomungo sanjo “Jinyangjo” by measuring divided time unit of one beat of the movement using the computer program “praat” for the object of the sound source “Baek Nak-jun’s Geomungo sanjo ‘Jinyangjo’: First Volume” is like the following. First, the total number of times that one beat out of “Jinyangjo” 6 beats out of 30 beats of the volume appeared as 2 scores were 65, and as a result of investigation of the types following the ratio of poetry between the two points, it could be classified as the 2 divided type of the ratio of 1:1, 3 divided type of the ratio of 1:2, 5 divided type of the ratio of 2:3, and the ratio of 2:8. Since the ratio of 2:8 can be seen as the ratio of 1:4, they are included in the 5 divided type. The ratio of 2:3 and the ratio of 2:8 can be classified as 5 division type 1 and type 2, respectively. Second, out of 30 beats of the volume, 1 beat 2 score types appeared 65 times in all, and as a result of investigation into the number of times of appearance of these 65 scores, it was confirmed that 2 divided type of the ratio of 1:1 appeared 8 times, 3 divided type of the ratio of 1:2 appeared 22 times, 5 division 1 type of the ratio of 2:3 appeared 33 times, and 5 division 2 type of the ratio of 2:8 appeared 2 times, and through the above it can be known that in the volume, with 1 beat 2 score, 5 division 1 type of the ratio of 2:3 were used most frequently. Third, as a result of confirming the position of 65 times of appearance of 1 beat 2 score type within 30 beats of the volume, appeared was 17 times in the first beat out of 6 beats that compose one beat of “Jinyangjo,” 15 times in the second beat, 6 times in the third beat, 6 times in the fourth beat, 7 times in the fifth beat, 14 times in the sixth beat. That is, 1 beat 2 score type was used intensively in the first, second and sixth beats out of 6 beats of the jinyangjo, and it can be known that 1 beat 2 score type rhythm was functionally used within “Jinyangjo” considering that the beat where one beat starts is first or 2nd beat and the beat where the beat ends is sixth beat.
