디자인 지각 과정으로서 미메시스의 이해와 구조에 관한 연구 (A Study on an Understanding and Structure of Mimesis as a Perception Process of Design)

초록

소통으로서 상징에는 기호적인 코드와 미메시스적인 코드가 동시에 들어 있다. 전자는 대상 그 자체의코드이며 후자는 대상의 경험된 흔적에 의해 생성된코드이다. 즉 상징은 대상의 경험된 흔적에 의해 재현된 대상의 잉여 표현이다. 그런 상징에 의해 인간은감각으로 지각할 수 있는 범위를 넘어 자신을 둘러싼환경과 현실을 지각할 수 있게 된다. 그로써 가상의체험이 가능하게 된다. 가상의 체험은 디지털 매체에서 요구되는 디자인 지각에 관한 것이다. 따라서 본연구는 미메시스를 이해하여 디지털 매체에서 요구되는 디자인 지각 과정을 탐구함과 동시에 가상의 체험으로서 미메시스의 구조가 변증법적 원리에 근거한무의식이 표상되는 은유의 구조와 유사한 것임을 확인하고 그런 구조에서 이미지가 결합될 확률과 비율에 관한 이해를 배경 및 목적으로 한다. 연구의 방법은 미메시스의 특징을 중심으로 다음과 같다. 미메시스의 대상인 비감각적 유사성은 라캉의 무의식에 대입해 이해한다. 무의식이 표상되는 매체는 은유이다.
따라서 은유의 구조를 미메시스의 구조로 이해하고무의식이 출현되는 과정의 아날로지인 피보나치 수열에 대입하여 이미지가 결합될 확률과 비율을 이해한다. 이해를 바탕으로 미메시스의 구조가 무의식이 표상되는 은유의 구조와 유사함을 확인함과 동시에 그런 구조에서 이미지가 결합될 확률과 비율을 탐구하는 방법으로 구성한다. 방법을 통해 도출한 내용은 다음과 같다. 미메시스의 구조가 변증법적 원리에 근거한 무의식이 표상되는 은유의 구조와 유사함을 확인하였다. 미메시스는 디자인 지각 과정이며 그런 과정에서 재현된 이미지는 황금비율에 근사한 확률과 비율로 대상의 이미지와 결합됨을 확인하였다. 따라서미메시스의 이해와 구조에 관한 논의는 디자인 지각과정의 이해이다.

영어초록

For communication symbols, there are semiotic codes and mimetic codes at the same time. The former is a code of an object itself, and the latter is a code created by the trace experienced of an object. That is, a symbol is the surplus expression of an object that is reproduced by a trace experienced of an object. With such a symbol, humans are able to perceive their surrounding environment and reality while exceeding the scope which they can perceive with their senses; thereby, it becomes possible to have a virtual experience. A virtual experience is concerned with the perception of design required in digital media. Consequently, also as a background, this study aims to explore the perception process of design required in digital media by understanding mimesis as a virtual experience; and, simultaneously, to confirm that the structure of mimesis is similar to the structure of a metaphor where unconsciousness based on a dialectic law is symbolized, and to understand the probability and ratio of the combination of images within that structure. The research methods focusing on the characteristics of mimesis are as follows. The non-sensible similarity that is an object of mimesis is understood by being substituted for Lacan’s unconsciousness. The medium with which unconsciousness is symbolized is a metaphor. Accordingly, the probability and ratio of the combination of images is understood by understanding the structure of a metaphor as the structure of mimesis and by applying it into the Fibonacci sequence, which is an analogy of the process in which unconsciousness appears. Then it is composed of the following: based on that understanding, the similarity of the structure of mimesis with the structure of a metaphor where unconsciousness is symbolized is confirmed, and, at the same time, the probability and ratio of the combination of images within that structure is explored. The contents deduced through the above methods are as follows. The study confirmed that the structure of mimesis is similar to the structure of a metaphor where unconsciousness based on a dialectic law is symbolized. Also, the study confirmed that mimesis is the perception process of design, and images reproduced during that process are combined with the images of objects with a probability and ratio close to the golden ratio.
Subsequently, discussion on an understanding and structure of mimesis is an understanding of the perception process of design.
