필기 양식의 기록성과 그 미의식의 전개 양상 (Writing Style's Record Property and its Aesthetic Consciousness's Development Aspect)

초록

필기는 한국 문학사에서 늦은 출현에도 불구하고 지속적으로 다양한 저술들이 산출되었다. 12세기 李仁老의 『破閑集』과 崔滋의 『補閑集』에서 시작한 필기는 기본적으로 문인 지식층인 사대부들의 생활 주변에서 견문한 내용을 기록한다는 분명한 성격을 지니고 있다. 그 수록 내용은 제재에 따라 詩話, 野史, 笑話의 대체적 구분이 가능하지만 창작층인 사대부들의 생활 의식을 벗어나지 않으려는 저술 기준이 암묵적으로 자리 잡고 있다. 이로부터 필기는 ‘사대부 의식과 그 생활 정감’이 녹아있음에서 기초적이며 중요한 하나의 미의식을 상정할 수 있다. 이와 함께 저자들은 史官에 준하는 자세를 지녀 역사서에 실리지 않는 다양한 정보들을 후세에 기록으로 남기고자 하였다. 이때 필기는 ‘기록성’에 기반한 ‘진실성’을 추구하려는 성향을 강화시킬 수 있었다. 이에 따라 필기는 대체로 하층민에 대한 관심이 약할 수밖에 없었다. 그럼에도 『용재총화』는 관심의 시야를 확장시켜 하층의 구전을 수록하는 과정에서 일정한 서사적 이야기들을 수록할 수 있었다. 이는 상층의 文才와 하층의 자유로운 사고방식에 연원한 구전이 결합함으로써 이뤄낸 성과이며, 특히 情慾과 관련된 일련의 흥미로운 서사적 이야기로 구성해 내었다. 이후 『어우야담』은 이욕 추구의 사회 세태가 반영된 진솔한 ‘人情物態’의 면모를 서사적 이야기 속에 담아내었고, 조선 후기 변화된 사회경제적 정황을 흥미 추구와 함께 서사성 짙은 야담집으로 일구어낼 수 있었다. 한편 조선 후기에는 문인 학자들의 독서 기록적 성격이 농후한 箚記體 필기가 대거 출현하였다. 중국의 고증학적 학문 풍토와도 관련이 되는 이들 필기는 ‘학적 추구 성향’을 표출함으로써 자신들의 지적 연대를 일정하게 공유할 수 있었다.
이처럼 문인 지식인들은 당대의 다양한 사회 변화에 지적 관심을 뻗쳐 이를 필기의 기록 전통으로 남김으로써 시대마다 독특한 미적 특성을 지닌 저술들을 창출해 내었다. 이제 필기의 전통과 유산은 그 양식의 미의식에 주목하여 다양한 방법론에서 재주목할 필요성이 있음을 제기해 둔다.

영어초록

Although writing appeared late in the history of Chinese literature, various writings are produced continuously.
The writing that started from 『Pahanzib』 of Lee In-Ro and 『Bohanzib』 of Choi-Ja has a clear character that records the content observed in the living surroundings of noblemen who are basically writers of the intellectual class.
The recorded content can be generally divided into poem and speech, unofficial history and funny speech according to topic, but the writing criterion that doesn't deviate from living consciousness of noblemen which is the creative class is positioned silently.
From this, writing can presume one aesthetic consciousness that is basic and important, as 'noblemen's consciousness and its living warmth' are being melt.
Together with this, writers had tried to leave various informations unlisted in the history books to future generations as a record by keeping a posture corresponding to officials.
At this time, writing could strengthen a propensity to seek 'honesty' based on the 'record property'. Accordingly, writing cannot help having weak interest about lower class people generally.
Nonetheless, 『Yongjaechonghwa』 could record certain epic stories in the process that records oral tradition of the lower class by expanding sight of interest.
This is a result that is achieved by combination of oral tradition based on literary talent of the upper class and free though method of the lower class, and especially, it was composed as serial interesting epic stories related to sexual desire.
Since then, 『Eou Historical Romance』 has contained aspects of honest "Social Conditions of Sympathy" in the epic story, which the society conditions for seeking greed are reflected, so changed socioeconomic situations of the later period of Joseon could be cultivated as historical romance collection with a thick epic property with seeking of interest.
On the other hand, Chagiche(箚記體)'s writing that a reading's recorded character of scholars in the later period of Joseon largely appeared.
These writings related to historical research's learning climate of China could uniformly share their own intellectual solidarity by expressing 'academic seeking propensity'.
Like this, educated literary persons had created writings that have unique aesthetic properties according to an era by extending intellectual interest to various society changes of their own age and leaving this as recorded tradition of writing.
This study suggests that the present tradition and heritage of writing are needed to notice again in the various methodology by paying attention to aesthetic consciousness of the style.
