초록

본고는 김수영의 시를 해석하는 방법으로 김수영의 시를 화자 지향적 어조, 청자 지향적 어조, 화제 지향적 어조의 시로 유형화하여 발화 형식의 변화에 따라 시의 미적 거리가 어떻게 나타나는지 살펴보는 것을 목표로 한다.
김수영은 전쟁과 4･19혁명을 겪으며 시대적 소명에 부응하기 위해 노력했던 대표적인 시인 중 한 사람이다. 이런 시인의 세계에 시의 미적 거리와 연결되는 지점이 있다고 보았다. 시인은 최대한 자신의 감정을 절제하며 객관적인 시선으로 다른 대상이나 사건을 만들고 시 속에 투입시킨다. 개인의 감정에 빠져 직접적으로 표현된 시적 형식은 더는 독자들에게 아무런 감흥이나 변화를 줄 수 없기 때문이다.
시에서 미적거리는 시인이 자신에 대한 사적이고 실제적인 관심으로부터 분리되어 하나의 대상을 초연하게 관조하며, 대상을 향한 그의 태도나 기술을 반영한 것이다. 그리하여 시인이 시적 대상을 상상력의 범위 속으로 끌어들여 시를 쓰고자 할 때, 거리의 조정 문제는 텍스트의 성패를 결정짓는 중요한 요소라고 할 수 있다. 이것은 감상자가 객관성을 지닐 수 있도록 해주는 관조의 태도이자 미적 태도이며, 단순한 시간적 ･ 공간적 거리가 아니라 예술작품의 미적 가치를 제대로 읽어낼 수 있는 내면적 거리이다.
대상과의 거리를 효과적으로 제어하는 ​​것은 미적 성취도와 관련하여 매우 중요하며, 극단적인 경우에는 부족한 거리조정(under distancing)과 지나친 거리조정(over distancing) 있다. 부족한 거리조정은 심리적 거리가 짧아 감정 조절과 양식화가 결여되어 있다. 과도한 정서적 억압이 특징인 지나친 거리조정은 지나치게 관념적인 시가 되어 미의식을 확보하기에 미비할 수 있다.
시 창작과정에서 미적거리는 시의 대상, 이미지, 화자, 어조 등 다양한 시적 요소와 밀접하게 얽혀있다. 따라서 시에서 미적 거리를 고찰하려면 어조의 방향, 시점에 따른 화자의 유형, 화자의 대상에 대한 감정적 상태 등에 주목해야 한다. 그 결과 시에 대한 깊이 있는 이해와 함께 시인의 개성적인 태도에서 드러나게 되는 미적 거리를 이해할 수 있게 된다.

영어초록

As a method of interpreting Kim Soo-young's poetry, this article aims to examine how the aesthetic distance of poetry appears according to the change in speech form by categorizing Kim Soo-young's poetry into a speaker-oriented tone, a listener- oriented tone, and a topic-oriented tone.
Kim Soo-young is one of the representative poets who tried to meet the calling of the times through the war and the April 19 Revolution. I saw that there was a point in this poet's world that connected to the aesthetic distance of poetry. The poet modulates his emotions as much as possible, creates other objects or events with an objective gaze, and puts them in the poem. This is because the poetic form, which is directly expressed in the emotions of individuals, can no longer inspire or change readers.
In poetry, aesthetic distance signifies the poet's detached contemplation of an object, divorced from personal and practical considerations, and embodies the poet's attitude or skill towards the object. therefore, when a poet endeavors to craft a poem, integrating the poetic subject into the realm of imagination, the adjustment of distance emerges as a pivotal factor in determining the success or failure of the text. This mindset embodies contemplation and an aesthetic approach that enables the viewer to maintain objectivity. It transcends mere temporal or spatial distance, constituting an internal detachment facilitating a proper appreciation of the artwork's aesthetic value.
Effectively controlling the distance to the object is very important for aesthetic achievement, and in extreme cases, there are ‘underdistancing’ and ‘overdistancing’. Insufficient distance coordination results in a short psychological distance, resulting in a lack of emotional regulation and stylization. Excessive distance adjustment, characterized by excessive emotional suppression, can result in poetry that is overly ideological and insufficient to secure a sense of aesthetics.
Additionally, because the aesthetic distance induced in poetry is based on psychological characteristics, it cannot be as accurate as the physical and spatial distance. In the process of creating poetry, aesthetic distance is closely intertwined with various poetic elements such as the object, image, speaker, and tone of the poem. Therefore, the analysis of aesthetic distance in poetry must first consider understanding where the direction of tone is in the poem, what type of speaker is related to the point of view, and thus the mental state that the speaker expresses toward the object. As a result, one can understand the aesthetic distance revealed in the poet's individual attitude along with an overall understanding of the poem.
