초록

포스트 코로나 시대가 도래함에 따라 실내 벽지에대한 소비자의 관심이 계속 증가하고 생활공간 벽지의 재미성에 대한 소비자의 수요도 증가하고 있다. 실내 공간의 장식에서, 표현력과 개성이 뛰어난 뮤럴벽지디자인이 소비자들로부터 높은 평가를 받고 있다.
따라서 멤피스디자인 특성의 작품은 창의성이 강한추상예술로서 벽지 시장의 재미성 있는 뮤럴벽지디자인에 영감을 줄 수 있다는 평가를 받고 있다. 그러므로 시장 수요가 높으며 흥미롭고 창의적인 디자인을개발하고 뮤럴벽지디자인에 접목하는 방안을 모색하는 것에 그 목적을 두고 있다.
본 연구 범위는 멤피스디자인 작품의 표현 특성을고찰 분석하였으며 분석한 결과를 바탕으로 4가지 콘셉트(‘서광의 실루엣’, ‘기하학적 세계’, ‘꿈의 도시’, ‘시각 공간’)를 선정하여 상업과 주거 공간에 좋은 뮤럴벽지디자인을 제안하였다.
연구 방법은 국내외 서적, 논문, 웹페이지 등 문헌을 통해 멤피스디자인의 배경, 작품의 표현 특성, 뮤럴벽지에 대한 이론적 고찰을 진행하였다. 프로크리에이트(Procreate)와 어도비 포토샵(AdobePhotoshop)을활용하여 새로운 디자인 개발을 하였다.
따라서 멤피스디자인의 표현 특성을 활용한 뮤럴벽지디자인 개발 연구를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다.
주거 공간을 위한 첫 번째 뮤럴벽지디자인 주제는‘서광의 실루엣’으로, 실용성과 단순성을 추구하며 강렬한 색상 대비와 입체적 시각 효과를 강조하였다. 두번째 주제는 ‘기하학적 세계’로, 친환경 수성잉크와 종이 소재를 사용하고, 멤피스디자인의 클래식한 선과기하학적 모양을 결합하였다. 이 디자인은 강한 대비와 조화로운 색상을 통해 주거 공간에 개성 있고 현대적인 분위기를 더한다.
상업 공간을 위한 뮤럴벽지디자인은 두 가지 주제로 나뉜다. 첫 번째는 ‘꿈의 도시’로, 멤피스디자인에서 영감을 받아 기하학적 형태와 인공적 색채를 사용하였다. 상아색 배경에 노란색, 빨간색, 파란색, 청색, 검은색을 적용해 시각적 충격을 강조하고, 원과 사각형으로 구름과 도시 건축물을 추상적으로 표현하였다.
두 번째는 ‘시각 공간’으로, 멤피스디자인 가구 작품에서 영감을 받아 빨간색, 파란색, 노란색, 청색, 아이보리색, 주황색, 검은색을 사용해 시각적 흥미를 높였다.
그러데이션과 입체 기하학적 패턴을 통해 벽지에 입체 효과를 주고, 디자인은 커피숍 공간에 특별한 시각적 효과와 장식성을 제공한다.
따라서 멤피스디자인의 표현 특성을 활용한 뮤럴벽지디자인을 개발하면 개성적이고 흥미로운 디자인을통해 즐거운 분위기를 조성하고 정신건강 증진 및 스트레스 해소에 기여할 수 있다. 또한 친환경 기술과결합하여 환경문제를 심화하지도 않을 것이다. 이에따라 멤피스디자인의 개성과 친환경 기술의 결합은뮤럴벽지디자인에 새로운 사용 가치를 더할 수 있을것으로 기대된다.

영어초록

With the advent of the post-COVID-19 era, consumers’ interest in indoor wallpaper continues to increase, and consumers’ demand for the fun of living space wallpaper is also increasing. In terms of interior space decoration, the mural wallpaper design with excellent expression and personality is highly evaluated by consumers. Therefore, works with Memphis design characteristics are being evaluated as being able to inspire interesting mural wallpaper design in the wallpaper market as abstract art with strong creativity.
Therefore, the research purpose is to develop interesting and creative designs with high market demand and to find a way to apply them to mural wallpaper design. The scope of this study is to examine and analyze the expression characteristics of Memphis design works, and based on the results of the analysis, four concepts (Silhouette of West Light, Geometric World, Dream City, and Visual Space) were selected to propose a mural wallpaper design that is good for commercial and residential spaces.
For the research method, theoretical consideration was conducted on the background of Memphis design, the expression characteristics of the work, and the mural wallpaper through literature such as domestic and international books, papers, and web pages. A new design was developed by utilizing Procreate and Adobe Photoshop.
Therefore, the following conclusions were drawn through the research on the development of mural wallpaper design using the expression characteristics of Memphis Design.
The first mural wallpaper design theme for the residential space is ‘Silhouette of West Lights’, which pursues practicality and simplicity and emphasizes intense color contrast and three-dimensional visual effects. The second theme is the ‘Geometric World’, which uses eco-friendly water-based ink and paper materials, and combines the classic lines and geometric shapes of Memphis Design. This design adds a unique and modern atmosphere to the residential space through strong contrast and harmonious colors.
The mural wallpaper design for the commercial space is divided into two themes. The first is ‘Dream City’, which was inspired by Memphis Design and used geometric shapes and artificial colors. The visual shock is emphasized by applying yellow, red, blue, blue, and black on the ivory background, and clouds and urban buildings are abstractly expressed in circles and squares. The second is ‘Visual Space’, which was inspired by the furniture works of Memphis design and used red, blue, blue, ivory, orange, and black to enhance the visual interest. The three-dimensional effect is given to the wallpaper through the gradation and three-dimensional geometric patterns, and the design provides special visual effects and decorative properties in the coffee shop space.
Therefore, if a mural wallpaper design is developed that utilizes the expression characteristics of Memphis design, it can create a pleasant atmosphere and contribute to promoting mental health and relieving stress through unique and interesting design. In addition, it will not deepen environmental problems by combining it with eco-friendly technology. Accordingly, the combination of Memphis design’ personality and eco-friendly technology is expected to add a new value of use to the mural wallpaper design.
