목단피 추출물의 화장품 약리활성 검증 (Study on Cosmeceutical Activities of Moutan cortex radicis Extracts)

초록

This study analyzed characteristics of Moutan Cortex Radicis extract as a raw material for cosmetics and evaluated antioxidant activity,anti-inflammatory effect, anti-bacterial effect, and cytotoxicity of active components of Moutan Cortex Radicis extract. As a result, in DPPH radical elimination ability, concentration of 1000 g/ml showed most similar result as the positive comparison group Vit.C of 84.7% of radical elimination ability, and ABTS radical elimination ability showed slightly lower value compare to the positive comparison group, however, it was identified that the elimination ability increased as the concentration level increased as it showed 66.1% of radical elimination ability in 1000 g/ml of Moutan Cortex Radicis concentration. Polyphenol and flavonoid contents each showed 106.40.003 mg/g and 112.90.004 content, and when NO formation inhibition of Raw 264.7 cell induced by LPS was researched, generation amount of NO decreased as the concentration of Moutan Cortex Radicis extract increased. Also,propionibacterium acnes high antibacterial activity was observed in 100 mg/ml concentration level for acne germs, and high antibacterial activity was observed from 10 mg/ml for staphylococcus aureus. Lastly, Moutan Cortex Radicis extract did not have cytotoxicity when the concentration level was low. Based on above results, this study suggests that active component of Moutan Cortex Radicis extract has possibilities of application as a raw material of natural cosmetic product that has antioxidant effect as well as anti-inflammatory, antibacterial,and non-toxic effects.
