부여지역 출토 백제 구획선연화문 수막새의 제작시기와 전통 (A Study on the Fabrication Period and Tradition of the separating line and lotus pattern roof-end tiles of the Baekje Period excavated from Buyeo Area)

초록

부여지역에서 출토된 구획선연화문 수막새는 입체적으로 표현된 연화문양의 형태나 2줄 1조의 구획선으로 구획된 특징을 가지고 있는 연화문 계통의 수막새이다. 이 구획선연화문 수막새들은 단위문양의 구성에서 고구려의 수막새와 유사성이 높기 때문에 고구려 계통의 기와로 생각되고 있다. 본연구는 부여지역의 백제 유적지 3곳에서 출토된 구획선연화문 수막새를 대상으로 문양 및 제작기법상의 제 특징을 살펴본 후 고구려 기와와의 비교를 통해 제작시기 및 계통을 파악한 것이다. 그 결과부여지역 출토 구획선연화문 수막새는 고구려의 제작기술이 아닌 백제의 조와기술에 의해 만들어진것임을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 부여지역에서 출토된 구획선연화문 수막새는 고구려에서 만들어 이입된것으로 보기 어렵고 백제의 와공들에 의해 제작된 것으로 판단된다. 본 고에서는 고구려 수막새의 편년에 입각해 부여지역 출토 구획선연화문 수막새의 제작시기를 6세기 3/4기로 파악했다. 부여지역출토 구획선연화문 수막새의 전통은 기존의 연구에서 주로 비교대상으로 삼았던 4-5세기대의 집안지역 계통의 고구려 구획선연화문 수막새가 아니라 평양지역 고구려 수막새의 전통이 투영된 결과물이다. 이와 같이 백제의 마지막 왕도에서 고구려 계통의 기와가 만들어지게 된 배경은 당시에 국제 사회의 면모를 가진 부여지역의 역동성에서 기인한다. 전쟁의 긴장에서 완화된 삼국의 정세 속에서 백제의 마지막 왕도에 고구려인들이 섞여 살고 있었고, 그들의 수요와 요구에 의해 고구려 계통의 구획선연화문 수막새가 제작된 것이다.

The separating line and lotus pattern roof-end tiles, which is excavated from Buyeo area, are a roof-end tiles with stereoscopic patterns and segmented in two lined set.
In general, unlike Baekje roof-end tiles of Gongju and Buyeo areas are characterized by the feature that these are composed with only lotus pattern, this separating line and lotus pattern roof-end tiles have similar pattern to the roof-end tiles of Goguryeo. Therefore, it is thought to be a tile of Goguryeo descent. However, there has not been much discussion about Buyeo-excavated separating line and lotus pattern roofend tiles. The reason for that it is not known exactly when the remains of Baekje, where the tiles are discovered, were excavated. Another reason is that the date of the separating line and lotus pattern roof-end tiles and relics from Buyeo are difficult to be determined. It is important to study the Buyeo-excavated separating line and lotus pattern roof-end tiles of the Goguryeo’s line. It is because it can reveal the time when Baekje relics were made and the international situation of the Three Kingdoms Period can be seen.
The study covers the separating line and lotus pattern roof-end tiles found in three Buyeo areas. After identifying the characteristics of this tile’s design and its production techniques, it was intended to learn about the period and lineage that were made in comparison with the Goguryeo tiles. As a result, it is clearified that the Buyeo-excavated separating line and lotus pattern roof-end tileswere made with Baekje’s technology. Therefore, the Buyeo-excavated separating line and lotus pattern roof-end tiles were not imported into Baekje after being made in Goguryeo. It was made by technicians from Baekje. On the other hand, it was determined that the Buyeo-excavated separating line and lotus pattern roof-end tiles were the third quarter of the 6th century. This is a comparison with the Goguryeo roof-end tiles. The background of the production of Goguryeo-affiliated tiles in the last capital of Baekje is due to the dynamics of the Buyeo region, which has international characteristics. The tension of the war eased and the situation stabilized. At this time, Goguryeo people could live together in the last capital of Baekje. The separating line and lotus pattern roof-end tiles were made by the request of the Goguryeo people who lived in Buyeo. This tile of Goguryeo’s line shows the dynamism of Baekje in the international community.
