초록

This paper compares and analyzes the Korean intonation produced by nativeKorean speakers and Japanese Korean learners by examining the intonationacquisition patterns of Japanese Korean learners according to their proficiency inKorean. For this purpose, the intonation phrases in which the first syllable beginswith a high tone and intonation phrases where the first syllable begins with a lowtone were examined focusing on utterances of the plain text.
Both the intonation phrase tone type and the boundary tone realization patternshowed that as Korean learning progressed from beginner to advanced, theybecame closer to the native speaker of the Korean language. Looking at theacquisition process, the method of realizing intonation phrases in Japanese, thelearner's native language, was transferred from the beginner stage, showing anintonation phrase and tone type that is not seen in Korean. In addition, there wereerrors in pronunciation of segmental consonants that were not found in thelearner's native language, and errors in pronunciation caused by not fullyacquiring the phonological phenomenon of Korean. In addition, the transfer of theJapanese articulation method, which is the learner's mother tongue, in thearticulation method of segmental sounds had an effect on the length of thesyllables, but showed a decreasing trend toward the intermediate level.
From the above content, it can be confirmed that the intonation of the learner'smother tongue and the articulation method of the segmental consonants have aconsiderable influence on the realization of intonation of Japanese learners.
Therefore, it is necessary to explicitly include phonetic and phonologicalknowledge about the differences and commonalities between Korean and thelearner's native language from the beginner level segmental consonant education.
