조선왕실 인장문(印章紋)을 응용한 넥타이디자인 연구 (A Study on Necktie Design Using the Stamp Pattern of Joseon Dynasty)

초록

본 연구는 앞서가는 서구의 첨단 과학기술과 국제화의 흐름에 적극적인 대처 방안을 모색함과 동시에 서양 일색의 기존 문화에서 우리만의 개성적 문화에도 눈을 돌려 본다면 세계적으로도 손색없는 특성화된 문화적 콘텐츠로 발전시킬 수 있는 소재들이 매우 다양하다는 것을 일깨우고자 하였다.
현대사회를 살아가는 우리들은 전통문화에 대한 특별한 애착을 갖고 있진 않다. 그래서 전통이라 하면, 또는 과거에 대하여서는 그냥 진부하고 낡은 것으로 치부하며 가볍게 생각하기도 한다. 그러나 근거나 근원마저도 모호한 외국 문물만 추종하거나 국적 없는 애매한 디자인을 막역히 모방하거나 답습하는 것도 결코 바람직한 자세는 아닐 것이다.
따라서 오늘날과 같은 국제화 시대에 무엇보다 우리민족의 전통적이고 고유한 문화유산을 활용하여 우리의 독자적인 정통성을 재발견하고 이를 현대적인 문화콘텐츠로 재활용하고자 하는 노력을 할 시기가 바로 지금이라고 생각한다.
우리나라의 다양한 전통 문화 콘텐츠 중, 그 중에서도 조선시대 왕실에서 어느 것 못지않게 소중하게 여겨지고 다루어진 인장(印章)에 대한 모티브를 학술적으로나 조형적인 측면의 연구사례는 다양하게 발전되어 왔으나 이를 하나의 문양으로 이용하여 서구문명의 대표적인 분야인 넥타이디자인의 텍스타일에 접목하기 위한 새로운 시도는 지금까지는 없었다. 특히 활용문양의 소재로 선정한 인장문은 그 서체나 전각의 세련된 조형미는 물론 그 내용 또한 숭고한 의미와 뜻을 가지고 있어 오늘날 각박한 세상을 살아가는 현대인들에게는 교육적으로나 정서적으로도 좋은 의미로 되새길 수 있는 훌륭한 내용으로서 특히 넥타이 문양의 훌륭한 소재가 될 수 있을 것으로 확신한다. 국제화 시대, 지적 문화콘텐츠의 가치가 국가의 문화적 경쟁력의 측도로 간주되고 있는 것도 늘 새로운 것에 대한 갈망으로 앞으로만 달려가던 문화 가치 측도를 바꿔놓은 결과이기도 하기 때문이다. 특히 근래에 이르러 우리 주변에서의 우리 고유 문화콘텐츠와 문화유산에 대한 관심이 그 어느 때보다 고조되고 있으며 그 소중함에도 많은 관심을 기울이고 있는 때인지라 본 연구의 결과 또한 많은 기대를 갖게 한다.

영어초록

This study intends to awaken that there are really various materials to be developed into specialized culture contents to stand the world, if we try to find the positive way to cope with the trend of the advanced leading edge science and technology and globalization, while we turn our eyes to characterful culture of our own from the existing culture with a single color of the western.
We living in modern society do not have special attachments to traditional culture. So, we regard and have a cheap opinion of the traditional or the past only as old-fashioned and worn-out. But it is never a desirable attitude of following foreign culture even with blurred basis or root, or vaguely imitating or following the ambiguous design without nationality.
Thus, it is considered that it is the very time to try to rediscover our unique authenticity and to reuse it as modern cultural contents by using the traditional cultural heritage of our own race owing ambiguous design without nationality above all in the time of globalization like today.
There were much development in the study cases in the aspect of scholarship or formation on the motive of stamps which is treated and considered more precious than any other in the Joseon royal family's among various traditional cultural contents of our country, but there was not any new attempt to engraft it as a pattern in the textile of necktie design, a representative field of western culture. Especially, it is believed that stamp pattern selected as a utilizing material will be an excellent material for necktie pattern, for it has not only sublime sense and meaning in its contents but also refined formative beauty of handwriting and seal engraving, and it has good contents worthwhile mediating as excellent sense for education and emotion for comtemporary men living in the hard world today. Also the value of intellectual culture contents and globalization time considered as the measurement of national culture competitiveness is the result that the culture value measurement always rushing forward with the longing for new things is converted. Also, the result of this study attracts much expectation, because the concerns about the culture contents and heritage of our own have never been deeper than any other time, and it is time when much concern about the preciousness of that is focused recently.
