춘천 중도동유적 돌대문토기 단계 주거와 취락양상 (An Analysis of Doldae Mun Pottery Period Dwellings and Settlements at the Jungdo-dong Site in Chuncheon)

초록

본고에서는 춘천 중도동유적에 조성된 돌대문토기 단계 주거구조와 유물에 대한 분석작업을 통해 단계설정을 하고, 단계별 주거군 배치 및 취락규모 등의 변천양상에 대해 살펴보았다.
중도동유적 돌대문토기 단계에 해당하는 주거지는 모두 76동이다.
방형은 46동, 장방형 26동, 세장방형 4동이다. 주거지는 중(대)형의장(방)형 주거지 평면에 석상(위석식)노가 설치된 형태(Ⅰ유형)와 소형의 방형 평면에 무시설식노가 설치된 형태(Ⅱ유형)로 구분된다.
주거지는 중·대형 장방형 평면에 내부에는 석상(위석식) 노 단독, 석상위석식 노 2개와 석상위석식 노와 무시설식 노 2개의 복수로 설치된 세대공동체의 공동거주형과 소형 방형의 무시설식 노가 1개가설치된 단독거주형 주거지로 구분된다. 주거지 단계설정은 돌대문토기를 중심으로 한 토기류와 주거구조, 방사성탄소연대자료를 중심으로 3단계로 설정하였다.
중도동유적 돌대문토기 단계 주거지역은 하중도에서 가장 높은 지역으로 상대적으로 안전한 지대로, 단계별로 2~7개의 주거군으로이루어진 선상배치를 보인다. 1단계 조기전반에는 중도동 남서쪽에위치한 C1구역에 미사리유형 주거가 처음으로 조성되는 단계로, 중(대)형의 장방형 주거지와 소형 방형 주거지 포함 10여동이 축조되는소규모취락으로 형성된다.
2단계 조기후반에는 1단계에 축조된 세대공동체의 공동주거형인중(대)형의 장방형 주거지와 소형 방형 주거지의 축조 숫자가 증가한다. B1구역에 먼저 주거군이 형성되고, 점차적으로 동쪽(E1) 구역과북쪽(D2·3구역)으로 주거군이 확장되어, 대규모취락으로 조성된다.
3단계 전기전반에는 남서쪽 일부에만 주거가 축조되면서, 취락의규모는 축소 및 소멸되며, 중도동 주민들은 인접한 금산리·현암리나 근화동 지역으로 이주한 것으로 판단된다.

영어초록

This study examined the structure of dwellings constructed at the Jungdo-dong Site in Chuncheon during the Doldae Mun Pottery period and their associated relics to determine the phase of these dwellings and analyze the development aspects of the Misary Type Settlement.
At the Jungdo-dong Site, dwellings dated to the Doldae Mun Pottery period number 76 in total, with 46 square ones, 26 rectangular ones, and 4 elongated rectangular ones. These dwellings can be largely divided into two types in terms of structure: TypeⅠwith a medium-tolarge rectangular plan, a stone-lined fireplace, and a no-facility type upper side, and TypeⅡwith a small square plan, a no-facility type fireplace, and a no-facility type upper side.
More specifically, the dwellings are classified into multi-family dwellings for generational communities that are characterized by a medium-to-large rectangular plan and a stone-lined fireplace or a stone-lined fireplace installed together with a no-facility type fireplace, and singlefamily dwellings with a small square plan and a no-facility type fireplace. The phase of these dwellings was determined as PhaseⅢ based on their associated earthenware, which is mainly Doldae Mun pottery, dwelling structure, and radiocarbon dating data.
The dwellings were located in the highest and relatively safe area on the river island, and the Jungdo-dong Settlement formed in the Doldae Mun pottery period shows the linear arrangement of five dwelling site groups. Considering the excavation pattern of Doldae Mun pottery and deep bowl shaped pottery with a round bottom, and radiocarbon dating results, it is presumed that the Jungdo-dong Settlement started as a small-size settlement in the C1 area, southwest of the river island, at the time of its creation, and gradually expanded to the northeast to form a large-size settlement.
Meanwhile, the Misary Type Settlement at the Jungdo-dong Site was formed as a small-size settlement consisting of 1-2 dwelling site groups including medium-to-large rectangular dwellings and small square ones in the first half of the creation period. By the second half of the creation period, through migration and expansion within the Jungdo-dong Site, it developed into a large-scale settlement.
