集安 출토 高句麗 捲雲文 瓦當의 편년 재론 (Review on the Chronology of the Goguryeo Cloud-pattern Roof-end Tiles of Jian)

초록

集安에서 출토된 고구려 권운문 와당을 해당 시기 중국 와당 및 낙랑토성에서 출토된 와당과 비교 검토하여계보를 구하고, 더불어 기존과 다른 방법으로 권운문 와당의 명문을 판독하여 형식 편년을 행하고 이것에 근거하여 권운문 와당이 출토된 대형 적석총을 편년하였다.
고구려 권운문 와당의 출현 형식인 國內城 人民浴池에서 출토된 “太寧四年”명 와당은 중국 西晉代의 와당과樂浪土城 출토 와당에서 계보를 구할 수 있었는데, 직접적인 계보는 낙랑토성에서 출토된 권운문 와당에서 찾을 수 있었다.
고구려 권운문 와당의 완성된 형식은 ‘連弧文+銘文’이 조합된 와당이다. 이 와당의 기년은 國內城의 南門里 와 第2小學에서 출토된 와당의 干支 명문을 판독한 결과 禹山M3319 와당을 제외하고는 기존의 연대보다 一周 甲 하향된 4세기 후반으로 편년되었다. 이 기년은 後趙, 前秦, 前燕의 馬를 禹山M992 출토 마주와 비교하여검증하였다.
‘연호문+명문’이 조합된 권운문 와당이 적석총 조영 당시의 것이라면 西大墓, 禹山M992 등 이 형식의 와당이 출토된 대형 적석총은 4세기 후반에 조영된 무덤이다. 千秋墓에서 출토된 권운문 와당의 최후형식은 와당의 형식 편년 및 공반된 “永樂”명 기와를 검토한 결과 5세기 초엽으로 편년되었다.
대형 적석총의 상기한 편년은 천추묘, 태왕릉, 장군총의 상대 편년과 묘주 비정 문제, 그리고 권운문 와당과 연화문 와당의 관계, 선조 무덤의 修築 문제 및 대형 적석총=왕릉이라는 등식을 재검토할 필요성 등 시사하는 점이 많다.

영어초록

The cloud-pattern roof-end tiles of Goguryeo excavated in Jian were compared to those of China and Lelang Earthen Fortress, and attempts were made to trace their origins.
Using a new method of deciphering the scripts found on the roof-end tiles, their chronology was established. Based on this, the chronology of the gigantic stone mound tombs which have yielded such roof-end tiles was also established.
The “Tai-Ning Year Four (太寧四年)” roof-end tile, an early type of the Goguryeo cloud-pattern roof-end tile, excavated from Renmin Yuchi of Guonei Castle appears to have originated from the roof-end tiles of Western Jin of China and Lelang Earthen Fortress; in particular, a direct link can be made to the cloud-pattern roof-end tile of Lelang Earthen Fortress.
The consummate type of the cloud-pattern roof-end tile is decorated with uninterrupted arch motifs and script. By examining the GanJi (干支) script of the roof-end tiles excavated from the Second Elementary School and another site in Guonei Castle, this type can be dated to the latter part of the 4th century with the exception of the roof-end tile from Yushan Tomb No. 3319, which is approximately 60 years later than previously believed.
This chronology was verified through comparisons between the horse helmets of Hou- Zhao, Qian-Qin, Qian-Yan with the example from Yushan Tomb No. 992.
If the cloud-pattern roof-end tile decorated with uninterrupted arch motifs and script was used when the stone mound tomb was constructed, gigantic stone mound tombs such as Xida Tomb and Yushan Tomb No. 992 should be dated to the latter part of the 4th century.
The latest type of cloud-pattern roof-end tile, from Qianqiu Tomb, can be dated to the early 5th century based on an examination of the chronology of the roof-end tile and the “Yeongrak (永樂)” script tile.
Many questions surround the chronology of gigantic stone mound tombs, such as the relative chronology and thes identity of the deceased buried in Qianqiu Tomb, Taiwang Tomb, and Jiangjun Tomb, and the relation between cloud-pattern roof-end tiles and uninterrupted arch-pattern roof-end tiles, the issue of repairing ancestral tombs, and the prejudice that a gigantic stone mound tomb must be the tomb of a king.
