    Hyun Ju Cho, chan-han(1572~1631) was an excellent person of literary ability as being pointed to be a member of 'Huoja(後五子)', in particular, was openly recognized as an excellent ability in Byounmun(騈文) at that time. However, his literature has not received much attention compared to his reputation and awareness, and discussion limited delivery and record regarding his prose has been done. This paper is to focus on Cho, Chan-han's prose-expecially Byoun-style prose-area lack of the existing research and to investigate characteristic aspects of Cho, Chan-han's prose through the analysis of 「Sinroo Sangryangmun」. Chapter 2 addresses a general view of the contents, Chapter 3 examines rhetorical features, based on this, Chapter 4 draws out Cho, Chan-han's prose characteristics. In the process of looking at characteristics of 「Sinroo Sangryangmun」, a contrast study on it and 「Sinroogi」.
    「Sinroo Sangryangmun」's contents follow general contents structure of Sangryangmun(上樑文), consisting of a general argument for habitation and a prologue of the need for divine architecture, practices and preparation process for Sinroo construction, original saying depicting its scene after Sinroo(蜃樓) construction and Yukwisong(六位訟) blessing for the six sides such as North, South, East and West, Top and Bottom, and closing remarks saying praying for peace and stability. Though its way is different from that of「Sinroogi」written in a concise narrative form, it's the same as emphasizing the value of Sinroo where is Yeominhaerock(與民偕樂)'s space.「Sinroo Sangryangmun」's rhetorical techniques are to highlight the characteristics of Byounmun style focusing on the balance and harmony of meaning, number of characters, syllables. Yet, its techniques are to have a variety of rhetorical devices in developing the contents which may be liable bored and to do colorful and rich contents development.「Sinroo Sangryangmun」's rhetorical techniques which are to emphasize Byounmun style's Yutang beauty and vocabulary beauty have the opposite pattern of those of 「Sinroogi」which are to focus on Gomun(古文) style's beauty of brevity by delivering a clear message with Wooeon(寓言) and parody techniques. With respect of Cho, Chan-han's prose characteristics seen based on the above contents, first there are a lot of literature-oriented writing features in terms of coverage. Second, the ability of delivering contents is improved by using the characteristics of each style of writing properly. Third, there are a lot of 『Zhuangzi(莊子)』's expressive characteristics.
