아동청소년의 학업무기력 발달궤적 및 예측변인의 효과 분석 (Analysis of the Developmental Trajectory and Predictive Effect of Academic Helplessness in Children and Youth)

초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 아동청소년의 학업무기력의 종단적 발달궤적을 살펴보고, 이에 영향을 미치는 변인의 예측효과를 검증하는것이다.
방법 이를 위하여 한국아동⋅청소년패널조사 2018(Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018)의 1차년도(2018년)부터 3차년도(2020년)까지 3년간의 자료 중 연구변인에 모두 응답한 아동청소년 2,384명의 자료를 잠재성장모형(Latent growth modeling: LGM)으로 분석하였다. 구체적으로, 3차 시점에 걸친 학업무기력의 발달궤적을 분석한 후, 예측변인으로 성별, 자존감, 삶의 만족도, 부모의 긍정적 및 부정적 양육태도, 교과성취도, 성적만족도를 투입하고, 준거변인으로는 학업무기력의 초기값과 변화율을 설정한 구조모형으로 예측효과를 분석하였다.
결과 학업무기력의 잠재성장모형 검증 결과, 2차년도 변화모형이 가장 우수한 적합도를 보였다. 또한, 예측변인으로 투입한 모든변인이 학업무기력의 초기값을 유의미하게 예측하였고, 자존감, 부모의 긍정적 및 부정적 양육태도, 교과성취도는 학업무기력의 변화율에도 유의미한 예측효과를 나타냈다.
결론 본 연구결과를 선행연구와 관련지어 논의한 후 시사점을 도출하였다.

영어초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to verify the longitudinal developmental trajectory of academic helplessness in children and youth to identify the predictive effects of variables that affect it.
Methods To this end, we used a latent growth modeling(LGM) to analyze the data of 2,384 children and youth who responded to all the research variables among the data from the first year (2018) to the third year (2020) of the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018. Specifically, after analyzing the developmental trajectory of academic helplessness over the three time points, the predictive effect was analyzed with a structural equation modeling in which gender, self-esteem, life satisfaction, positive and negative parenting attitudes, academic achievement, and achievement satisfaction were input as predictive variables, and the initial value and rate of change of academic helplessness were set as reference variables.
Results As a result of examining the latent growth modeling of academic helplessness, the second-year change model showed the best fit. In addition, all variables input as predictive variables significantly predicted the initial value of academic helplessness, while self-esteem, positive and negative parenting attitudes, and academic achievement showed significant predictive effects on the rate of change.
Conclusions After discussing the results of this study in relation to previous studies, theoretical and practical implications were drawn.
