김춘수의 무의미시에 함축된 진의 연구 (A Study on Real Meaning implied in Kim Choon-Soo’s Nonsense Poem)

초록

이 논문은 김춘수의 무의미시의 심층 의미를 탐구하는 것을 목적으로 작성되었다. 흔히 김춘수의 무의미시는 의미가 제거된 것, 현실 도피, 귀족주의, 비인간화 등과 같은 것으로 규정된다. 본고는 이에 대한 비판적 입장에서 김춘수의 무의미시도 내적으로는 현실과 우리와 자아에 대한 깊은 인식을 함축하고 있음을 밝혔다.
김춘수의 무의미시론의 핵심은 편견으로 이루어진 기성관념을 부정하고 실재에 접근하는 과정을 방법론적으로 제기한 것이다. 그것은 구체적으로 시에서 관념을 배제하고 대상 자체만을 제시하는 것, 일상적 논리를 파괴하는 자유 연상과 자동 기술—통일성을 파괴하기 위한 불연속적인 이미지의 병치, 일상적 언어 체계를 비트는 것 등으로 구분된다.
그런데 이런 그의 노력은 결과적으로 무의미한 것이 아니라는 점에서 모순이 생긴다. 특히 시가 기호와 개념을 벗어나지 못하는 언어로 이루어지기 때문에 무의미의 지향과 그 결과는 항상 괴리가 생긴다. 또 기성관념을 파괴하고 새로운 의미를 추구하는 것도 결국에는 또 하나의 편견이 되는 문제점을 낳을 수 있다. 김춘수는 이것을 해결하는 방법으로 ‘시적 트릭’이라는 말을 종종 사용했다. 그가 의도하는 시적 트릭이란 어떤 관념이나 의미를 겉으로 드러나지 않게 내면화하는(위장하는) 표현 방법론, 즉 높은 차원의 기교를 뜻한다. 이것은 시와 일상성[非詩]의 차이를 분명히 구분하기 위한 예술의식에 연관된다.
결론적으로, 김춘수의 무의미시론과 무의미시는 궁극적으로 무의미를 발생토록 하기 위한 것이 아닐 뿐만 아니라 현실 도피나 반인간, 또는 반역사주의를 지향하는 것도 아니다. 오히려 세계와 자아를 치열하게 인식하고 그 궁극적 경지나 의미에 이르기 위해 끊임없이 회의하고 성실하게 탐구한 결과이며, 시적으로 높은 차원을 추구하기 위한 그의 예술적 고뇌에서 이루어진 결실이라 할 수 있다.

영어초록

This thesis has been written for the purpose to research the true sense of Poet Kim Choon-Soo’s the Nonsense Poem. Commonly, the Nonsense Poem of Kim Choon-Soo is stipulating as such Meaning is eliminated, Escapism, Aristocracy Principle, Dehumanization and so on.
This manuscript, on a critical stance against such stipulation, has determined that the Nonsense Poem of Kim Choon-Soo is not an escapism, but rather at its inner aspect, it always implies a deep cognition with regard to Reality, Ourselves and Ego. The core of Kim Choon-Soo’s Nonsense Poem Theory denies the stereotyped idea made by any prejudice, and also methodologically raised its approaching process to the Existence(Reality). The method is classifying into several ways. Namely, those are classifying likely as excluding any notion from a poem, suggests on the object itself, and a liberal association and an automatic depiction that destroying the routine logic — the juxtaposition of discontinuous image for destruction of its unity, and twisting the daily language system.
By the way, on the view point that his such effort is consequentially not meaningless, there occurs an inconsistency. Especially, since a poetry is consisting of language that unable to get rid of the symbol and concept, there always arises a disjunction between the aim of Meaninglessness and its result. And, the pursuance of new significance by destroying the stereotype also engenders a problem at final that becomes another prejudice. As the solving method of this, he often uses the word such as ‘Poetic Trick’. The poetic trick what he intends is the Expression Methodology that internalizes (camouflages) a certain notion or meaning as likely not shown to the surface, namely, it signifies a higher dimensional technique. This is connected with the artistic consciousness to clarify the difference between the Poem and Routine Matter (Non-Poetic Boundary).
As the conclusion, the poetical experiment what Kim Choon-Soo has ever pursued, in other word, Nonsense Poem Theory = Poetic Trick (high-leveled technique) means the best way to make-out the poem poetically in full. Kim Choon-Soo’s Nonsense Poem Theory and his Poetry not only do not signify the Meaninglessness itself ultimately, but also do not direct towards the Escapism and Anti-human or Ant-historicism. Rather, it fiercely cognizes World and Ego, and in order to reach the eventual significance, it ceaselessly doubts, sincerely researched result, it could be mentioned that the fruition was comprised at his artistic agony for the pursuance of poetically high dimension.
