무도학 단상 3제 (3 Issues of Martial Arts Study)

초록

이 연구는 무도학이 독립된 학문의 한 영역으로 존립하고, 무도학의 발전에 초석이 되기 위한 전제조건은 무엇인가에 대해 논의하였다. 이의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 무도학은 ‘수행분과(혹은 무도분과)’와 ‘경기분과’로 구분해서 접근할 필요가 있다. 이는 두 영역간의 이질화를 도모하자는 것이 아니라, 수행과 경기로 이원화 된 연구를 바탕으로 각 영역을 전문화시킨 다음, 이의 통합연구를 시도하는 방식을 택하는 것이 무도학의 학문적 수준을 향상시킬 수 있다는 입장이다. 수행분과의 연구는 무도의 본질적인 문제, 즉 ‘道’의 문제가 다루어지게 된다. 이는 무도, 무도학의 방향을 설정하는 연구로서 무도수행의 내재적 가치를 구현하는 철학적 접근이 될 것이다. 반면 경기분과의 연구는 무도의 현상적인 문제, 즉 ‘技’의 문제가 다루어지게 된다. 이는 경기화된 무도에서의 경기력 증진과 健身을 위한 수단으로서의 과학적인 방법들이 연구과제가 될 것이다. 둘째, 수행과 경기(겨루기) 영역이 소통하여 공존할 수 있는 대안을 모색하고, 수행과 경기의 소통 주체로서 형(形)의 역할과 과제를 탐색하여야 한다. 셋째, 무도 혹은 무도학의 발전을 위하여 거버넌스의 이념을 도입할 필요성이 있다. 중앙기관에서의 수직적이며 집중적 형태인 ‘통치’의 개념에서 벗어나 수평적인 관계, 분산형태로서의 접근이 무도계에도 요구되며, 무도학은 이러한 문제의 해결에 이론적 기반을 확립하는 선도적 역할을 해야 할 것이다. 무도의 철학적 기반을 확보하고, 과학적인 훈련방식을 개발하는 것 못지않게 무도학은 구성원의 선진의식 고취 및 행정시스템의 선진화라고 하는 과제에 선도적인 역할을 수행해야 할 의무가 있다.

영어초록

This study discussed what the prerequisites are for which the martial arts study can be established as one sphere of independent learning, and become a cornerstone in development of martial arts study. The conclusions on this are as follows. First, the martial art needs to be approach by being divided into ‘cultivation(修行) division(or martial arts division)’ and ‘competition division.’ The purpose is not to promote heterogeneity between two spheres, but is rather the position as saying that taking a method of attempting the inclusive research on this after specializing each sphere based on a research with duality in cultivation and competition, can increase the academic level of martial arts study. A research on the cultivation division comes to be addressed an essential problem, namely, a problem of Tao(way, 道).’ As this is a research of establishing direction in martial arts and martial arts study, it will be a philosophical approach that implements immanent value in performing martial arts. On the other hand, research on the competition division comes to be addressed a phenomenal problem in martial arts, namely, a problem of skill(技).’ As for this, scientific methods will be the research task as a means for promoting athletic performance and health for body(健身) in the competed martial arts diecond, there is necessity for seeking an alternative plan that spheres of cultivation and competition(matching) can communicate and coexist, and for exploring a role and task in martial form(形) as the main subject of communication in cultivation and competition. Third, a concept of governance needs to be introduced for development in martial arts and martial arts study. The martial arts circle is demanded the approach in the horizontal relationship and the decentralized form, with escaping from a concept of 'rule,' which is the vertical and concentrated form in the central agency. The martial arts study will need to play a leading role in establishing theoretical foundation in solving this problem. No less than securing philosophical foundation in martial arts and developing scientific training methods, the martial arts study has a duty of needing to perform a leading role in a task called the encouragement in members' advanced consciousness and the enhancement in administrative system.
