한강유역 신라 석실묘의 구조와 성격 (Structure and characteristics of stone room grave of Silla era found on the area of Han river)

초록

본고에서는 한강유역의 신라고분 중 대다수를 점하는 석실묘를 대상으로 그 구조를 파악하고 이를 통해 계보와 축조집단을 파악해보았다. 동시에 신라석실묘의 한강유역 수용과정을 살핌으로써 신라의 한강유역 지배방식의 일면을 밝히고자 하였다.
그 결과 신라는 고구려․백제와의 군사적 대치속에서 한강유역의 방어와 향후 영역화에 거점이 되는 특정지역에 한하여 진출하여 영역화하는 거점지배 방식을 택한다.
구조적으로는 한강본류지역과 남한강유역 간 상반된 차이를 보여 계통상 차이가 인정된다. 한강본류지역 석실은 백제와 영남서남부지역 석실과 계통상 연결된다. 축조집단은 횡구식석실을 주묘제로하는 徙民된 가야계집단과 횡혈식석실을 주묘제로 하는 백제 재지집단으로 구성된다. 남한강유역은 영남서북부지역과 왕경인 경주, 영남서남부지역 석실과 계통상 연결되며 축조집단은 상류의 충주지역은 횡혈식석실을 주묘제로 하는 왕경과 가야계집단, 단양지역은 횡구식석실을 주묘제로 하는 영주와 예천일대의 지배집단으로 파악된다. 반면 하류의 여주지역은 횡구식석실을 주묘제로 하는 상주일대의 지배집단과 횡혈식석실을 주묘제로하는 왕경의 지배집단을 일부 포함한다.
이 같이 계보가 다른 양 지역 석실의 수용경로는 추풍령을 넘어 청원, 진천, 안성, 화성, 용인을 거쳐 한강본류로 이어지는 내륙로와 죽령과 계립령을 넘어 충주와 여주로 이어지는 남한강 수계를 따른 하천변로가 설정된다.
이러한 경로를 통해 한강유역의 영역화를 진행하였던 신라는 정치․군사적 안정화를 이룬 행정적 거점지역에는 왕경의 지배집단을 주축으로 사민시켜 중앙의 지배권으로 흡수하는 방식을 취하는 반면 군사적 긴장관계에 있는 변경지역은 어느 정도 독자성을 인정해주면서 지방의 지배집단과 피정복민을 적극 활용하였다.

영어초록

This paper studied the genealogy and construction group through studying the structure of stone room grave that shares most of the graves of Silla era found on the area of Han river. It also studied the acceptance process of the stone room graves of Silla era around Han river area to understand the ruling type on the area of Han river.
Silla chooses position ruling type of advancing to specific area and makes it its land to protect Han river area in the military confrontation with Goguryeo and Baekjae. It is recognized that there are systematical difference between the area of main stream of Han river and South Han river area in structure. The stone room graves around the area of main stream of Han river is connected to the stone room graves of Baekje and west and south area of Gyeongsang province. The construction group is divided into two groups; Gaya group that uses main graves of horizontal entrance outer stone tomb and Baekje native group that uses main graves of horizontal digging stone chamber. The area of Namhan river is related to stone room graves of Gyeongju, the capital of Silla, of north west of Gyeongsang province and south west of Gyeongsang province. The construction group of Chungju area seems to be the groups of Gyeongju and Gaya that used main graves of horizontal digging stone chamber. The construction group of Danyang seems to be the groups of rulers of Yeongju and Yecheon that used main graves of horizontal entrance outer stone tomb. The construction group of Yeoju area seems to be the rulers’ group of Sangju that used main graves of horizontal entrance outer stone tomb and the rulers’ group of Gyeongju that used main graves of horizontal digging stone chamber.
The acceptance paths of the two different genealogy of stone rooms are divided into two; inland path that leads to main stream of Han river of Cheongwon, Jincheon, Anseong, Hwaseong and Yongin going over Chupoongryeong and riverside path of Namhan river that leads to Chungju and Yeoju going over Jukryeong and Gyeripryeong.
Silla tried to rule the areas of Han river with the paths. It positively used the local rulers’ groups and the people it won while recognizing the uniqueness of the conquered areas where military tension still existed.
