조상 숭배 정서 관점으로 본 중국 한대(漢代) 묘장(墓葬)의 표현적 특성 분석 -한대(漢代) 유승(劉勝) 묘장(墓葬) 설계 사례를 중심으로- (An Analysis of the Expressive Characteristics of Chinese Tombs in Han Dynasty from the Perspective of Ancestor Worship Sentiment -Exploring the Design of Liu Sheng's Tomb in the Han Dynasty-)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 중국인들은 조상의 영혼이 영원히 존재한다고 믿으며 조상 영혼에 대해 경외심과 같은 정서를 가진다. 한대(漢代) 시기(BC 202~220)부터 묘지에서 제사를 지내는 것이 유행하기 시작했는데, 제사 의식의 목적은 조상에게 감사함을 표현하고 후손들을 보살펴주기를 기원하기 위함이었다. 본 논문은 한대(漢代) 묘장(墓葬) 설계에 있어서 흉례(凶禮)와 길례(吉禮)라는 두 가지 제사 행위가 묘장(墓葬)과 현실 세계 간의 유사성과 차별성이라는 두 가지 설계적 특성을 결합하여 조상 숭배 정서를 표현했고 이로써 한대(漢代) 묘장(墓葬) 설계의 기초적인 근거가 됐다고 추정한다. 이에 본 논문은 ‘조상 숭배’의 정서를 표현한 방식을 주요 연구 주제로 조상 숭배 정서의 유형, 정서적 가치, 표현적 특징을 탐구하는 것을 목적으로 하며, 정서와 관련된 이론을 탐구한 뒤 외부 환경과 신체적 반응이라는 두 요소와 정서를 관계지어 제사에서 사용된 사물에서 나타난 조상 숭배의 정서 유형을 도출하고 제사 과정에서 나타난 정서적 가치를 탐구하고자 한다. (연구방법) 상술한 분석 과정을 거친 후 조상 숭배 및 제사 관련 자료를 대상으로 문헌 연구법을 진행했고, 조상 숭배의 비물질 문화 및 물질 문화를 분석하여 ‘정서 유형’을 정리했다. 조상 숭배의 정서를 표현하는 것은 묘장(墓葬)과 제사 행위가 공동으로 추구하는 목표이기 때문이다. 유승(劉勝) 묘장(墓葬) 사례를 분석하여 조상 숭배의 정서와 정서적 가치가 한대(漢代) 묘장(墓葬)에서 나타낸 표현적 특징에 대해 연구했다. (결과) 문헌을 정리하고 분석한 결과, 중국인들의 조상 숭배는 ‘경건과 존경’, ‘자연 순응과 천명 경외’, ‘생명의 영원성과 그리움’, ‘존중과 감사’라는 네 가지 정서와 존경심을 표현하고 비통함을 환기하는 정서적 가치를 가진다는 정서 표현 구조를 구축했다. 한대(漢代) 유승(劉勝) 묘장(墓葬)에 관한 사례 연구를 통해서 묘장(墓葬)에서 나타난 유사성은 ‘생명의 영원성’과 ‘자연 순응’ 정서에 대응되며 이는 비통한 정서를 환기하고, 차별성은 ‘경건과 존경’, ‘존중과 감사’ 정서에 대응되며 존경심을 표현한다는 점을 확인했다. (결론) 상술한 내용을 기반으로 다음과 같은 결론을 내릴 수 있다. 한대(漢代) 사회에서 묘장(墓葬) 내 제사 활동 중에서의 길례(吉禮)와 흉례(凶禮), 그리고 묘장(墓葬)이 사람들과 조상 간의 깊은 정서적 연결을 나타낸다는 결론을 도출했다. 후속 연구에서는 한대(漢代)의 각 계층에서 나타나는 묘장(墓葬) 설계를 분석하여 본 연구의 활용 범위를 더욱 넓히고자 한다. 본 논문의 연구 성과가 제사가 유행하기 시작한 한대(漢代)의 문화, 사상에 대한 이해를 돕고 문화유산 계승을 위해 유의미한 자료로 활용될 수 있기를 바란다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) Chinese believe in the eternal existence of their ancestors' souls and hold them in awe. Since the Han Dynasty (BC202-220), it has been popular to hold sacrificial activities in cemeteries, to express worship for ancestors and pray for the protection of ancestors. According to this article, it is speculated that in the design of tombs in the Han Dynasty, the two sacrificial behaviors of inauspicious and auspicious were combined with the two design characteristics (similarity and difference) of tombs to express the worship of ancestors, which becomes the basic basis for Han Dynasty tomb design. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to explore the theme of expressing the emotions of 'worshipping ancestors' and investigate the types of emotions, emotional values, and performance characteristics involved. Also, it aims to examine the theories by relating to emotions, linking the dual factors of the external environment and physiological reactions with emotions, and then derive the emotional types of worshipping ancestors from the objects used in sacrifice, and explore the emotional values revealed in the ancestral rite process. (Method) The methods of research were as follows. Firstly, literature research was conducted on relevant materials related to ancestor worship. Secondly, due to the expression that worshiping ancestors is the common goal of tombs and sacrifice, a case study was conducted on Liu Sheng's tomb to investigate the application methods of ancestral worship emotions and emotional values in Han Dynasty tombs. (Results) As a result of organizing and analyzing the literature, it can be concluded that China's worship of ancestors includes four emotions, that is, piety and respect, conforming to nature and reverence for fate, eternal life and remembrance, respect and gratitude, as well as the emotional value of expressing respect and transforming sadness. In addition, the emotional performance structure is constructed. Through the case analysis of Liu Sheng's tomb in the Han Dynasty, it was confirmed that the similarity corresponds to the emotions of "eternal life" and "conformity to nature", which evokes sorrowful emotions, while the difference corresponds to the emotions of "piety" and "gratitude" to express respect. (Conclusions) The conclusions are as follows. In the Han Dynasty, tombs and the two sacrificial behaviors of inauspicious and auspicious are the expression of the strong emotional connection between people and ancestors. Next, this paper will investigate and analyze the tomb designs of different social classes in the Han Dynasty, so as to expand the application scope of this study. It is hoped that this article can be used as meaningful data to help people understand the culture and ideology of the Han Dynasty and become the basic information for the inheritance of cultural heritage.
