임도에서 조류의 생태연못 이용에 관한 연구 (A study on the use of ecological ponds by birds in forest roads)

초록

2021년 11월 6일부터 2022년 6월 23일까지 대전광역시 임도 개설지의 생태연못 2개 지점(Site 1, 2)에 무인센서카메라를 설치하여 생태연못을 이용하는 조류의 특성을 분석하였다. 전체 생태연못을 이용한 조류는 총 21종 1,108개체였으며, 가장 많이 이용한 조류는 물까치 Cyanopica cyanus, 멧비둘기 Streptopelia orientalis, 밀화부리 Eophona migratoria의 순이었다. Site 1 연못을 이용한 조류는 12종 888개체, Site 2 연못을 이용한 조류는 15종 220개체로 종수는 Site 2 연못이 많았고, 개체수는 Site 1 연못이 많았으나 두 연못 간 이용하는 조류의 종수에서는 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았으나 개체수에서는 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 조류의 행동특성인 물마시기(D), 머무름(R), 목욕(B), 비행(F)을 분석한 결과 Site 1은 물마시기(D)가 7종 393개체로 가장 많았고, Site 2는 머무름(R)이 11종 95개체로 가장 많았으나 두 연못 간에 유의한 차이는 없었다. 계절별 이용하는 조류를 분석한 결과 Site 1, 2 모두 3월부터 5월인 봄에 가장 많이 이용하였다. 시간대별 생태연못을 이용하는 조류를 분석한 결과 Site 1, 2 모두 15시부터 19시인 오후에 가장 많은 개체가 이용하였고, 10시부터 15시인 낮 시간에 이용 종수는 가장 많았다. 결과적으로 임도에 부수적으로 개설되는 생태연못의 경우 오래된 생태연못이 새로 조성한 생태연못 보다 이용하는 조류의 개체수는 많으나, 나머지 이용 종수, 행동특성 및 계절별, 시간대별 이용 조류에 있어서 유의한 차이는 없었다. 따라서 생태연못은 더위에 대한 피신처 및 식수원으로써의 역할이 더 중요한 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서 동일한 형태의 생태연못에 대한 연구가 이루어지지 못한 부족함이 있으며, 지속적인 모니터링을 통해 사계절에 대한 충분한 결과분석도 추가로 필요하다. 본 연구는 향후 임도 개설시 생태연못의 조성 필요성과 생태연못을 이용하는 조류의 종류와 행동 및 이용 특성에 대한 기초자료로써 활용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

영어초록

Unmanned sensor cameras (camera trapping) were installed in two ecological ponds (Sites 1 and 2) of the forest road in Daejeon Metropolitan City from November 6, 2021, to June 23, 2022, to analyze the characteristics of birds using the ecological pond. The total number of birds using the entire ecological pond was 1,108 individuals from 21 species, with the Azure-winged magpie Cyanopica cyanus, the Oriental Turtle Dove Streptopelia orientalis, and the Chinese Grosbeak Eophona migratoria being the most frequent birds. Site 1 pond had 888 birds of 12 different species, while Site 2 pond had 220 birds of 15 different species. There was a very slight difference in the number of bird species that used the two ponds; however, there was a marked difference in the number of individuals. After analyzing the behavioral characteristics of birds, such as drinking (D), resting (R), bathing (B), and flying (F), it was revealed that at Site 1, drinking (D) was the most common characteristic with 393 individuals from 7 species, and at Site 2, resting (R) was the most common with 95 individuals from 11 species. The ecological pond was found to be most popular in the spring from March to May, observed through the analysis of the birds’ usage by season. Most birds were found at Sites 1 and 2 between 15:00 and 19:00, and the highest number of species were found during the daytime from 10:00 to 15:00. As a result, in the case of ecological ponds built incidentally on forest roads, the number of birds using the old ecological ponds were higher than that of the newly created ecological ponds; however, there was no substantial difference in the number of species, behavioral characteristics, season, and time of birds used. Therefore, ecological ponds a serve as both shelters and sources of drinking water. There was insufficient data on the same type of ecological pond in this study, and it was necessary to analyze the results sufficiently for the four seasons through continuous monitoring. This study is expected to be used in the future to provide basic data on the necessity of creating an ecological pond when building a forest road, as well as the species, behaviors, and usage characteristics of birds using the ecological pond.
