모-아 집단치료놀이가 어머니의 민감성 및 영아의 애착안정성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of a Mother-Child Group Theraplay Program on Maternal Sensitivity and Infant's Attachment Security)

초록

본 연구는 18개월에서 30개월 사이의 어머니와 영아 30쌍을 대상으로 어머니의 민감성 향상과 영아의 애착 증진에 미치는 모-아 집단치료놀이 프로그램의 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구방법으로는 연구대상을 각각 15쌍씩 실험집단과 통제집단으로 나누어, 이 중 실험집단에게 한 회기에 40분씩 일주일에 2회, 총 16회기에 걸쳐 모-아 집단치료놀이 프로그램을 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 프로그램 실시 후 어머니의 민감성이 향상되었고 추후검사 결과 효과의 지속성이 입증되었다. 둘째, 프로그램 실시 후 영아의 애착안정성이 증진되었으며, 애착의 하위 영역 중 순응, 안전 기반, 신체적 접촉, 정서적 공유는 증가하였고 떼쓰기는 감소하였음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 추후검사 결과 효과의 지속성이 입증되었다. 셋째, 본 프로그램이 어머니의 민감성을 향상시키고 이러한 민감성을 매개로 하여 애착안정성을 증진시키는 간접적인 영향을 준다는 점을 알 수 있었다.

영어초록

The participants of this study consisted of 30 mother-infant pairs and the age of the infants ranged from 18 to 30 months. Among the 30 pairs, the half of them were assigned to the experimental group and the other half to the control group. The experimental group consisted of four sub-groups of mother-infant pairs, and participated in the Mother-Child Group Theraplay Program. The experimental theraplay program was run for 16 periods, each of which consists of 40-minute sessions. The results of this study were as follows: First, the mothers who participated in the program showed an increase in their maternal sensitivity level. Furthermore, a follow-up test confirmed that this effect lasted even after the termination of the experiment. Second, the Mother-Child Group Theraplay Program also helped the infant participants to enhance their security of attachment. As found in the mother participants, this effect has not been decayed after the termination of the program. Third, controlling the attachment-associated variables, the program was found to have an independently significant effect on infant's attachment behavior. This study also showed that the maternal sensitivity increased by the Mother-Child Group Theraplay Program played a mediating role in improving infant's security of attachment. Fourth, the observation on the overt behaviors of the mother participants revealed that they had gradually developed a complete understanding of their child's signals and desires, and also made appropriate reactions promptly. On the other hand, it was also observed that the infant participants had developed a stable attachment behavior to their mother over the course of the program. Therefore, the conclusion of this study is that the Mother-Child Group Theraplay Program enhances maternal sensitivity, increases the attachment-security of the infant, and furthermore transforms the interactions between the mother and the infant in a more positive way.
