초록

Mobile journalism is a major form of media today. The reason is that it has the unique characteristics and superiority of journalism. In particular, after the advent of the 5G era, mobile journalism has become a very important role in various emergencies. This study analyzed the development and status of mobile journalism based on the documentary video <Exodus> series made by the BBC on the ‘Syrian Refugee Crisis’ and the personal work <The Bridge to Paradise> filmed by researcher myself in Syria in 2017 and studied the application of mobile journalism in war reporting. The purpose of this study is to examine the prospects of using mobile journalism for war reporting by the application environment, advantages, and specificity of smartphones in the 5G era.
The research results and contents are as follows. First, information technology is changing the way humans communicate with the outside world, and the way humans obtain information is also changing significantly. With the help of high-speed Internet, smartphones have become the first window for people to understand the world and will represent future trends in mass media development. Second, in an emergency, smartphones can play an important role in immediate dissemination through various formats such as text, photos, and videos. Third, if we use a smartphone as a medium, we can get more true and vivid field photos and videos because the subject can feel secure. In addition, information obtained in a short time can be delivered to the public, and publishers are not limited. Based on these research results, we hope to create a more peaceful and beautiful world while making the public more clearly aware of the horrors and truths of war through mobile journalism.
