한국 여성시의 특징적 몇 국면과 미래시학의 방향 ―페미니즘 관점에서 1990년대 이후 여성시를 중심으로 (Some Characteristic Aspects in the Female Poetry and the Direction of Future Poetics : Centered on the Korean Female Poems since the 1990s from the Feminist Perspective)

This study analyzes some characteristic aspects of Korean female written poems since the 1990s from the feminist perspective, suggesting a proper direction to the future poetics.
Korean female poems has the following four features : 1) it started with an awareness of female body and progressed through the overturn of female roles and provocative paradox to embody more active gender consciousness which had been passively enclosed in the conventional boundaries. 2) it sometimes challenged the social conditions of masculinity in the society of a male dominant culture, 3) they compliment the limits of a male-centered world, female poems took the lively aspects of the earth, a major symbol of a goddess. 4) the poems written by women sometimes showed a recognition, meditating on the human existence including women. These four are the major characteristics in the modern female poems, quite different from those in the former age. These woman poems used to adopt male poetic speakers or male speaking tones, establishing female poets' more self subjective. In the tones of the poems, woman poets' firm beliefs are clearly reflected to long for their own artistic identity.
What will be an ideal direction to female poetry in the 21st century? With this question in mind, this paper stresses that future Korean poetics should overcome various binary oppositions, products of Western rationalism, such as subject/object, male/female, man/machine, civilization/nature, and so on. Leaving from this dichotomy, this paper suggests two things; one is to make efforts to recognize and integrate the differences between two genders and the other is to accommodate the changeable age consciousness in the future. As a result of this conclusion, this paper suggests two modes of feminism for the future poetics in Korea; Ecofeminism and Cyberfeminism.
The poetics of Ecofeminism comes from a presupposition that the nature of woman and nature itself are essentially the same or similar. From the nature-friendly perspective, this type of feminism can be balanced with the conventional male-dominant authoritative society. Cyberfeminism, another type of feminism, can build a bridge over conventionally opposing things like man and woman, man and machine, or man and animal. Crossing over these boundaries, female poets' free imagination can fly up for the establishment of proper poetic self. What matters is that the former should reflect the latter's point of views, recognizing vantage femininity of mother earth. The latter should propose a proper awareness of human existence by continued meditation on human conditions. It is not an easy thing to propose an ideal direction of future Korean female poetry. The value of this study can be said that one of literary studies is to suggest and stir up the positive aspects of literature.
