초록

이 논문은 동해 도서․연안지역 민요공동체 ‘산다이’를 연행론적 관점에서 내포와 외연으로 살피되, 몇 가지 쟁점을 중심으로 변화에 초점을 두는 동시에 현사회에서 민요공동체의 위상을 살핀 것이다.
첫 번째 논의한 것은 도서․연안지역 민요공동체의 성격(性格)이다. 일반성은 산다이가 놀이를 지향하는 소리문화의 연행물이고, 시가무+놀이라는 전유행위를 통해 형성․유통되며, 일상활동, 생산활동, 갱신활동의 통일과 그 작용에 의해서 변화․발전된다는 점이다. 동시에 개별성은 산다이가 신앙, 의례, 놀이, 노동 등이 통합된 개방적 장르 체계를 가지고, 민요공동체의 독특한 기능을 환기하며, 민요공동체의 의미를 부여하는 자체의 문예발전사를 가진다는 점이다. 이것은 동해 도서․연안지역 민요공동체의 연행원리로 작용되므로 쟁점을 해결하는 근거가 될 것이다.
두 번째 논의한 것은 동해 도서․연안지역 민요공동체의 외연(外延)이다. 지역의 구분과 문화권역의 전개, 민요공동체의 연구사적 검토, 장례 후 놀이문화의 활성화 유무 등이 바로 그것이다.
첫째 동해권은 서남해권, 서해권, 남해 및 제주권 등과 함께, 서남해역, 제주해역, 동남해역, 서해해역, 동해해역 등의 5구분이 사안에 따라 재구성된 4구분이지만, 방언권, 민요권, 놀이권, 명절권 등을 토대로 문화권역을 설정해야 한다.
둘째 1994년에 논제에 나타나기 시작한 민요공동체는 놀이를 지향하는 소리문화의 연행물인 산다이처럼, 문화권역적 전개와 지역문화적 특성을 드러내므로, 이를 통해 소리문화를 인식하고 실천해야 한다.
셋째 도서․연안지역민들은 모여서 즐겁게 노는 놀이를 하므로, 동해사람들은 문화적 욕구에 따라 마을과 민요공동체와 함께 결합된 도서민요를 통해 시가무의 융합과 놀이의 결합이라는 신명풀이를 하는지를 살펴야 한다.
세 번째 논의한 것은 동해 도서․연안지역 민요공동체의 내포(內包)이다. 놀이의 개념과 문화적 범주, 시가무의 융합과 놀이의 결합 등이 바로 그것이다.
첫째 열지세계관(說之世界觀)은 기쁘고 즐거운 말이 시(言之)와 노래(長言之)와 춤(舞之) 등 예술을 발생시킨다는 것이므로, 열지세계관이 놀이와 결합되어 마을 또는 마을간 이동을 통해 신명이 추구되는 양상을 살펴야 한다.
둘째 민요공동체 ‘산다이’는 해당 문화권역에서 장례 후 아예 민요공동체(산다이)로 놀지 않을 때 의례가 중시되어 교육의 장이 되거나, 상(喪) 중이나 장례 뒤에 민요공동체(산다이)로 놀 때 놀이가 중시되어 노래판이 되는 과정을 검토해야 한다.

영어초록

This study considered ‘Sandai,’ a folksongs community in the islands/coastal regions of the East Sea from the view point of performance in a way of research introduction, focusing on changes in several issues as well as the status of a folksongs community in the current society The first issue discussed was on the characteristics of Sandai. The generality indicates the performance that is resulted from a play-oriented sori culture; is formed and circulated through performance activities, such as poem, song, dance and play; and is changed and developed by unification and reaction of daily activities, production activities and renewing activities. As the same time, individuality contains an opened genre system which has been combined with religion, ceremony, play, labor, etc.; evokes a unique function of folksongs community; and covers its own literary history which endows meanings on folksongs community.
The second issue referred to several issues in order to study performance of folksongs communities in the ‘island/coastal regions of the East Sea.’ The issues are of regional classification and cultural zones, review on research history of a folksongs community, concept and category of a play, combination of poem, song, dance and play, and a case in which a man does not play or plays well after funeral.
First, the East Sea zone is divided into 4 zones which are the south-west sea zone, the West Sea zone, the South Sea zone and the Jeju zone, which are re-divided by some reasons from the 5 divisions of the south-west area, the Jeju area, the south-east area, the West Sea area and the East Sea area. But it must be divided into the dialect zone, the folksongs zone, the play zone and the holiday zone.
Second, the folksongs community that emerged as an issue in 1994 displays cultural-regional development and local-cultural characteristics like Sandai which is a performance of the Sori culture which aims at plays, through which the Sori culture must be recognized and practiced.
Third, the people of island and coast areas enjoy gathering and playing together, so the East Sea people perform the fusion of poem, song and dance and the combination of plays through island folksongs together with villages and folksongs communities depending on cultural desires.
Fourth, “the viewpoint of Yeolji, or delight” means that the delightful and pleasant words can produce arts, such as poems, songs and dances. Thus it is necessary to review an aspect in which the viewpoint of Yeolji gets combined with plays, and transmitted from village to village, finally pursuing exhilaration.
Last, Sandai, the folksongs community, must be considered in the relevant cultural zones that it becomes an educational ground after funeral when Sandai does not play a roll as the folksongs community and ceremony becomes emphasized, or it becomes a singing party while or after funeral, when Sandai takes its roll as a folksongs community.
