초록

This article is devoted to the works of two Russian portrait painters of the second half of the 19th century - I. Kramskoy and V. Serov. As the founder and theoretician, Kramskoy is an artist who painted typical people of various social classes on the basis of naturalism and revolutionary-democratic realism. His 'portraits of psychological spectrum' portrayed 'unknown' people with beauty and ugliness simultaneously and revealed a Russian society on the verge of huge new changes. Serov created 'portraits of multilateral soul' thanks to his tireless artistic quest. His patience and sensitive intuition enabled him to draw the cracks of the souls of the 'well-known'. With the influence of the impressionists or Cezanne, Serov painted his models with a subdued sorrow and unclear pain to the vanishing fragile beauty.
