초록

This paper offers an explanation of idioms which are composed of ‘names of animals’ characterized by different semantic nuance in Russian and Korean. This study aimed to achieve three objectives. First, it attempted to characterize the linguistic potentials of idioms that have the component of animal names. Second, it described the components of vocabulary related to the names of animals, their semantic phenomenon, and ethnic and cultural components. Third, it analyzed the patterns of vocabulary associated with the names of animals in Russian and Korean which are more significant for shaping linguistic world view. The basic ideology of Костомаров and Верещагин was quoted for partially identical idioms, and the following methods were applied to the analysis of specific examples. We will examine the following considerations in order to compare and analyze two different languages, Russian and Korean, to figure out what they have in common and what their differences are. We will employ a series of methods from the perspective of vocabulary, idiomatic expressions and linguistic approach in analyzing the data written in Russian and Korean.
